btw: the userlib stuff (and other stuff you have to do to compile it) is explained in the readme which is included in the source code download

unfortunately I can't test your exe because it works on my win 7 system anyway (with the original one)

Is there any chance you can link a place to find the Blitz Basic API? I want to convert the program from the Non-Object-Oriented language BASIC to the Object-Oriented language Java (or C++), but it would be simpler if I had the API that you used to write the game in the first place... and, of course, if it's even possible to do so. I am unsure if BlitzBasic keeps key components hidden from the users to prevent this kind of action.

I have a question about the license.

I read the license and I think it's allowed but I was wondering if it's okay with you, the original developers, if I rebuilt this game in a completely different engine?

yeah, sure. that's okay. however everything in the license will still apply. so nothing commercial etc. (of course exceptions are possible when I approve them)

just out of curiosity: what engine do you want to use?

Planning on using the Indie version of Unity.

I don't plan on selling it or anything commercial I just like the game and think it will make a tough second project for me.

i have blitz3d but when i click test for stranded 2 it says 'Function not found' and i dident edit anything (and same as cs2d old source)

Well, first of all u don't need to use the full nbame of BASIC. And second of all, Blitz3D itsn't hard to leanr, it is based apon the BASIUC language anyways so BASIC expierence will help you there

you didn't read the readme right?
you have to do EXACTLY what it says. otherwise it is not going to work.

i'm not sure how this is open source but, if the grass is black too, its normal

Try setting Landscape Details in the Options->Graphics to the lowest possible setting. Save, play, test if the ground is black. If it's not, slowly increasy the Landscape Details and always test if the ground is black.

You aren't very brigth are you? There is a thread just below this: http://www.unrealsoftware.de/forum_posts.php?post=205427#jn

See that, you really are blind as a bat. It is a problem with graphical drivers/minimizing the game.

i just downloaded the stranded 2 and whenever i play i get this weird error were all the ground is covered in these rectangular multi colored boxes.

any help?

Have you checked if the gfz files exist?
Have you extracted you folder and somehow lost some files?

If we all ore you make the 3d files in mdl,we whel haw the real source and more beautiful quality...

because Stranded II is programmed in Blitz3D and b3d is actually the best and easiest format for B3D games.

using the mdl format would not have affected the quality in any way. nonsense.

Alright, so I finished editing the .bb code for sfx, so that whenever you walk over something like metal or flesh, it makes a sound now.
I wanted to make it a bit more realistic.
Now, how do I put the edited code into Stranded II?
