Well, without new things, where would CS2D go? We're at 0.1.1.4 [soon 0.1.1.5] and we still have about... 886 updates to go. CS2D would get kind of stale in those 886      updates without something refreshingly new. Menu and bot updates could probably only last about 200 updates, in my opinion.


What? what are you talking about? cs2d isnt gonna have 886 updates, not even close. its taken 5 years to get it like what, 14 updates or something? lol

Very nice made, I'm excited about those "Laser Mine's" that detonate's with objects/players interferance and that portal gun. Especially with construction that portal gun could be good of use.

Will other players be able to use other people portals? If yes; then you can blockade corridors for your teammates, so not ideal. So it probably gets individual.

They close on death is an good idea, otherwise you can spawn, get into your portal and immediately being teleported to the enemy's spawn for camp.

Hope you release 0.1.1.5 soon, I'm getting crazy with all that hackers nowadays in that 0.1.1.4 version...

You can always use a long string of Gate Fields to prevent enemies from getting in the base.

EDIT: The gfx for the laser itself will be editable, right? As in being able to change its color to red, for example.

The Laser has team colours. It's red when it's a T Laser, blue when it's a CT Laser and this lightened blue when it's Deathmatch

don't know why but i've got the feeling that people will edit old maps like de_cs2d, de_dust only to be able to teleport and to use laser mines. In the first months of the release everyone will use them like it will be their last chance to use them.

I'm going to make an assumption here, so don't kill me if I'm not right. Since DC said before that the portals and laz0r mines are, at least internally, buildings, then I assume that the normal mines are, as well, since you can't build on them. You can't build something over something else, I assume, so I don't think that'll be possible, based on my assumption here. xP
An easier way: just put the mine to the left. Then make a portal to your right to have the enemy walk into. Then, if the player is n00b enough, (s)he'll walk straight into the mine! ^-^

Plus, you'll be able to teleport over deadly zones, as demonstrated in the video.
See? All we need now are smart people to figure out how to 'effectively use', if not exploit, the new things.

you can't teleport mines or any other building/item. that's impossible. only players can be teleported.

portals can only be opened at free floor tiles where no building/mine is.

mines can only be built in front of walls (either tile walls or buildings or dynwall or breakable) where no other building is.

both can NOT be placed on certain entites (spawnpoints for example).

@Silet_Control: lololol maybe they're more skilled. They might surround a blue portal with mines/laz0r mines and put a yellow portal at the only entrance/exit so you'll have to go into it. The possibilities are [almost] endless! You just have to know how to counter these things...

Oh, and will there be moar default maps than last time? Like, an even amount of Standard, DM, TDM and Zombies maps? The only zombie map most 24/7 servers use is zm_street... m04r, pl0x? xP

Is it possible to defuse the bomb or a mine when you open a portal on the bomb/ the mine? Or to open it on a gate field and the gate field isn't cause to damage (the gate field) ?
