I once had a problem with Stranded I. I was playing Stranded I on my school's computer. I was pressing the Wireframe Mode button (I think the button was F7). Suddenly, the computer turned itself off and it restarted. What could have caused this? My school's computer was a Dell desktop.

oo...odd because normal mode (textures) is just the wireframe with textures. So if you switch to wireframe it's just a simpler view and it should work fine.

are you sure that your school teacher did not do it? couse all the school computers are linked together & can be controlled by the administrator(teacher) wich can make it restart automaticly & delete the program

well first of all: school computers are not for playing and commonly have only an onboard gpu solution. I would tell you to run updates and install the latest drivers for the video card but you probably don't even have the rights to do that on your school pc (unless the responsible person is an idiot).

secondly: don't activate wireframe if it crashes the pc. problem solved

this could also be a coincidence (not caused by wireframe mode). maybe due to overheating or something like that.

I forgot to mention that the game was on my flash drive. I just plugged it into my school's computer. If it is on a flash drive, no teacher can delete it.

I think the graphics card wasn't able to support wireframe mode, quite simply. It sounds more logical, but I could be wrong... what type of computers are there? computers that can handle games? anyways I do not recommend playing games on school PC's as they might have what's called a school IT policy. If there's a rule on there "no installing of programmes without permission from teacher" then you should play at home instead, there's no point in installing anything on school computers anyways.
