If we saw a stupid skin, we hate it. It's not fair if we like this even it is an improper skin.
I pereonally believe that you could have made the outcome of that idea so much better that it is now without a lot of big effort. But if you want to or not, you will have to admit that you could have done this a lot better.
So: good and original idea, but could have been made a lot better. Just take your time with it and don't publish until you are 100% sure that it looks very good.
If you already feel impressed by your work, then I'm sorry, but then you know that pixelart is definately not your type of talent and don't expect anyones help here, you will have to get the eye for quality yourself.
