I just lol'd, MMORPG is already third-person, he doesn't have to use that term on MMORPG's.
"Third-person" mostly used at shooter games.

Really? An MMORPG can be in any view.

Well, we are talking about RPG games, dude. If it is first person, it's just first person. Like, there is a lot of FPS games with RPG elements, but they count as FPS because of it's FPS.

So skyrim is just a first person game, not an RPG .. ?

Role playing game and first person are not conflicting labels. One has to do with your view while playing it, and the other has to do with the style of gameplay.

And shooter is a style of gameplay like rpg, there are first person shooters and third person shooters.

Don't know about any second person shooters though.

Yes, Skyrim is actually a first person game with rpg elements. That's what I'm talking about.
You can level up/use skills at Call of Duty too.
Actually, there is no second person game.
It's like, you are looking from your friends eyes to see road.

I actually think there is.
Ico, and Onimusha (i don't remember which one), both for PS2 are possible examples.
The camera is fixed at a scenario's place and keep looking to you, that's probably third person, but can be considered second since it's not following or being directed specially to you, it moves sometimes to show enemies that are far without your command (moving the analogical or pressing a specifig button).

@user palomino: I played LoL and i'm sure WoW has the same idea/system .

No, LoL is a strategy-RPG with a side-top-down view. WoW is a 3rd person MMORPG.

Do you guys seriously know about online games?
LoL is a battle arena MMO w/ RPG elements.
What the fuck is 3rd person MMORPG?
@user Ahmad, funny enough.

3rd person MMORPG is an MMORPG with a 3rd person type of view. What's so hard to understand?
The greatest RPG of all times, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, was 1st person. Don't tell me it's a 1st person game with RPG elements, Arena IS an RPG.

First person = Me
Third person = Him

soo...

Second person = You

A second person point of view is a story that is told from the perspective of "you." It is much less common than first and third.

GiantBomb has written
In second person point of view, the action is shot from the perspective of a character who is not the protagonist. To qualify, the player must continue being in control of the protagonist, but see action through the eyes of another character which he can interact with.

In video games, this kind of second-person perspective is mainly seen in text-based adventure games, such as the Zork series and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It can also be seen in some role playing games to explain an action your character has performed, for instance: "You use Magic Missile on the trolls". The use of second-person perspective can help players feel as if they are actually the character they are controlling.

The other type of second-person perspective in games mainly has to do with camera angle. In this type, the main character (the on being controlled by the player) is seen through the eyes of another character. For instance, the first boss of Battletoads has the player fight the boss through the eyes of the boss. The player is still in full control of the main character (as being able to move the main character, mind control does not count), but all the action is seen through the boss's perspective. Super Mario 64 was one of the first games where all the action is seen in a second-person perspective, through the camera of Lakitu.

Read that, see I'm right.

No. LoL is an multiplayer strategy-RPG. If it was an MMORPG, it'd have a huge world where you could interact with other players who aren't doing the same thing as you are.

So WoW is a huge world with a lot of places and cities ..etc
isn't that like 500 players at the same server playing?
i thought LoL was like that so i downloaded it but then i found out that there are only 2 maps and you actually host a server inside another server to play .
