I've been following the ingame diary's instruction and hollowed out a rock, but I can't craft a forge with 10 branches and 20 leafs. According to my guy, I can't combine those for *anything*.

Maybe the crafting formula has changed and the mod author forgot to make a note of it?

Nevermind. I've found the forge in the production tab of the build menu.

I really do wonder just how dense I can be sometimes

look in the Diary under Operations tab for making a Distiller. Combine the 7 items and you will see the Distiller kit appear in your rucksack. Then use your hammer and choose the Distiller from the build menu. You must build it over a campfire like you do a Wooden Grill.

there is also a Printable Instruction Manual file in the main folder with all the same Diary details too. Though the Diary is always updated with the latest updates info, I eventually get to updating the manual later, with latest updated info.

Yeah, I reconfigured it to be "Enter" but that is irrelevant, I killed the wolf and activated it(to open its inventory to take loot) and it jumped up and was tame immediately.

Also, I see that the Jetty is unbuildable for me or I'm doing something wrong or its not fully implemented or it has been taken out.

I also see that the House(Brick I assume) is also unbuildable or unfinished or something.

To All,
Here is a image of the new Kiln Oven model i made using the well model, forge model, and shelter n logs.

10 branches+15 leaves+30 rock+2 log=Kiln Oven

You add soft clay items you make (on left) and they harden into usable pottery.(on right)

This will additionally make it a bit harder when you start a new game, because you will not be able to make clay bottles that hold water until they can be Kilned.

Also note: In the To-Do list a new change will be Boiled Water. You can get sick from any water that is not boiled now. This to will add to difficulty on normal and hard mode, in the early game play.

Here is the new Greenhouse model.

1) You can plant in it during winter months.
2) Can hold up to 10 plants depending on the type.
3) If you leave the door open in winter for more than 1-2 hour, all plants will freeze and die.
4) Will act as a shelter cover, covering fire from rain, and give immunity/cure to frostbite.

4 other models were added to handle the greenhouse and for making the new Glass Pane.

1) First you make a Soft Clay Glass Mold with clay and knife.
2) Bake it in the kiln oven into a hardened Glass Mold.
3) Then you combine the Glass Mold + Crystal Silica Dust to make a tray of Crystal Glass Mold.
4) Bake it in the kiln oven and retrieve 1 piece of Glass Pane.

You get to keep the Glass Mold after retrieving the Glass Pane. All this info is in the Diary, and each item description and ingame text, will guide you through the process.

So... I was running arround minding me own business, and then it started to rain and my torch automatically lit .-.

By the way, really good mod and bloody difficult even on normal. I've found myself struggling for water several times in the first three days, I could barelly work on something else other than getting water.

you can try re-downloading the game.

1) goto the "saves" folder and copy your save to another personal folder.
2) delete the entire game.
3) re-download the game and unzip it.
4) paste your save back into the saves folder.
5) When you load your save game, sleep asap to reset the games configuration automatically.

If your computer does not have a very good graphics card, lower all the graphic settings in the options menu...if you still have problems with lag then you may have an abundance of torches and campfires that lag your game, on a lower end graphics card. (or low ram memory, or low processor). Minimize building alot of torches/campfires...even when they are not lit, the game engine is still checking them every 10 seconds for fuel...if you have many, you may experience some type lag. So destroy unwanted fire objects.

A huge block of glowing crops may cause lag on a low end graphics card too...these issues have all been addressed in the next update. (e.g. crops will not glow anymore, but actually change color themselves, getting rid of any lag)

The next update has been optimized for lag in many aspects of the game, due for release on June 1st.

Here is the new Water Trough model...notice it now has a spout.

Pour a bottle of water into the spout and water a larger area of crops then just using the bottle of water on the ground. The bottle alone waters a radius of 50 meters as always, and the trough will spreads the water over 160 meters.

new Water Tough showing radius of watered crops. (light colored crops). This image also shows the removal of glowing particles on planted crops, they now turn dark, and then to black when they are ready to die of thirst. This helps in performance, removing the glowing particles.

When they fill up from rain, they will water crops automatically at midnight too. Or when you sleep past midnight. You only need to add water when your crops are black and the trough is empty...or your crops die at midnight.

BUT!!! I hope u took a look at the running without spending xtra. I know this has to do with previous lag complains, and I don't want to bust our balls, but this is a key concept.

Anyways, the green house and the improved water through look awesome.

I promise I will work on the guide. Will get u a new one by first week of July.

IDEA:

Maybe we want to create a "Main Island" to work with, add cosmetic details.

Hey JJ. I was meaning to tell you this ever since I started bug testing on the game, I was never able to craft the Auto Hammer, ever. The diary says that you combine a steel hammer with steel and gold but it never works, I even tried to add the recipe manually with all the required IDs with no luck. Only you know how it works and if it works. BTW nice additions.

Hey JJ, just want to let you know that the game runs much smoother but it feels like my pc got a performance drop, the game does not stutter as much but I'm experiencing constant slowness, on previous version I played full graphics with everything on except motion blur, now it runs slow like I took some ram out or something. Also the houly tick is not that noticeable but can be unwanted at times. Awesome update though.

Been playing the game on and off randomly since the past few months while observing the progress on the forums.
I must say you've been doing a very good job at it.

I was gonna point out about the distiller not working but you already fixed it!

Here's a few things that i noticed that have been bothering me.

1# The wooden house roof doesn't seems to be prevent the rain from entering. I built a single torch inside of it and tried to light it up, with oil of course, and i get this "it's too wet" message.

2# Very rarely sheeps tend to poop and get "Stuck". Basically they don't move anymore, even if you whip them, minor but can be annoying when making a new game and trying to bring some sheeps into a pack so they can mate.

3# Dog Wistle, the left click button to change the command is way too sensitive. clicking on the left mouse button for like 1 second will make the commands loop 2-3 times. I think it should be more like the shovel which is easier to use when it come to selecting the action.

4# Would be nice to add some "Evil pirate" event! He could be very strong, with a gun or something. You could take the friendly pirate NPC, change his color and make him more dangerous. He could drop some gold on death if you manage to kill him. Just an idea.

5# Using the net to grab infinite ressource like sugar or cotton really make the game easier, even on hard mode.

6# Do you think it could be possible to add an option to remove the heartbeat sound that is played when you're low HP? Or perharps lower the volume of that sound a tiny bit? It's personaly giving me an headhache.

7# If you kill a small insect and then press E to loot it but fail to loot because the insect body is stuck inside the ground texture well the game tend to freeze for like 0.5 seconds. Actually it happen whenever you look at the ground and press E. Maybe it's me?

8# I noticed the water through can only be placed in a single way. You cannot rotate it unlike all the other buildings.

9# Is it possible to add the ability to dig up single normal rocks? The ones that can be turned into hollow rocks after 50 hits? Even if it's late game or high skills only. It would easier to build the "Perfect camp".

10# if i build a bunch of fence with a fence door to prevent chickens from escaping, sometimes they still escape. Also it's impossible from what i have tested to sit inside of the fences and release the chickens. They always appear outside of the fence, mostly stuck. Sometimes releases chickens get stuck and don't move at all. Which i can simply re-catch and release to fix it.
Chicks also get born outside the fence and i cannot catch them with the net. I think it should be do able.

11# I know it's possible to craft a long bow but i seems to be unable to find the recipe anywhere. Could you please tell me what is it? Gladly the natives often drop ones.

12# I say natives drops should be a bit more random. The red potions they drop, the number of arrows. I find it funny that the melee ones have more HP and hurt more than ranged ones since melee ones have no weapons at all. Could make the arrows dropped between 1-15, instead of always 10. Could also have them small, big or no potions at all. if i attack them with 100% HP, melee them to dead and then i have 40% HP left, just pick their potion and i get fully healed. Doesn't seem too challenging, particulary later on!

13#Another idea too would be to make Smaller or bigger versions of the enemies or even wild creatures. It would add to the randomness of the games. Of course their drop, attack power, HP and speed would depends on their size.

14# Your fixes for the lag seems to have worked a lot, game is easier to handle. Very happy that you fixed the running too. Something i noticed is, later in game, once there are more buildings, animals, etc. The lag seems to pick up again.

15# is it possible to add a torch with a "roof" of some sort? Maybe an improved torch which would require more material. Light is really a problem at night, which add to realism, the problem is the campfires, forge, kiln barely produce any light compared to a single torch.

That's all for now. Sorry for the lack of professionalism. I just wish to help since i love this game. If you found any of thoses usefull, please let me know so that will encourage me to keep searching for bugs or broken things.

1# The rain in Stranded has no collision, so the roofs allow the graphics to go through. However, cover buildings have been scripted to allow burn in the rain...you just have to strike the fints more or use bark branch, it is all random and harder when raining. But they do light eventually.

8#i have no issue rotating it. When you press the left mouse button to place it, continue holding it in and move the mouse left/right to rotate it....then release the mouse button when it is in position. I have heard this from one other player a long time ago, but I use this technique above for all my buildings.

9#it IS one of the prospecting objects that can randomly be found...mode 3 Prospecting for iron or stone

10# yeah those darn fences....been working on that for a while ...still trying to configure collision to make them work right exactly...big animals stay for the most part.

12#yes...more random...still in progress.

13#true...i did that with the vegetation...would be cool for everything else too! good idea!

14#thank you! Yes the more fire objects and captured chickens can bog the engine down...i could only limit what a player could build/capture but I want to leave that up to the player. I will destroy torches Im not using often and only build necessary fire objects...you only need 1 rooster to breed all chickens, with the new feed system it will be a challenge to keep a big horde now. Should help.

When you capture a wild chicken/rooster a coop makes him idle if you drop it within 200 meters or so...otherwise they run free again if no coop in range.

15# Thats a pretty cool idea...i like it. The torch is only brighter because it is up off the ground. Try hitting a campfire with a branch while you have cotton in your rucksack...to make a hand-torch...then equip the torch in your hand for light...or the oil lantern is even more awesome cuz it lasts longer and you dont have to equip it.
