Try reducing the gore? The shadow sensetivity? The lighting detail? The particles(if there is such thing)?

51 FPS ? Impossible ( Even with my 6GB RAM I would get 50FPS As Maximum )

About Your 512MB RAM ?
I said CS2D Need 1GB as Basic and Recommended but you can also have less.

@user zazz:

At least you must have the Requirements
1 ghz CPU
256 mb 3D video card

Even with 2GB RAM my Game hasn't always 50fps. But that's because of my Video Card. 256MB and Shader2.0

Anyway, try not to open other programs such as Internet Browsers or Messengers (Skype, ICQ, what ever)

@user Infinite Rain: Not really, 30 fps games are still quite choppy graphically (most noticeable in modern FPS's). The minimum FPS to have to give the illusion of a smooth framerate is 60 FPS, anything over 100 is overkill, but is nice to have considering that your graphics card is powerful enough to never go under 60.

There are a lot of topics about the frequency/rate our eyes and brain interpret visual data, but it's most widely known that our eyes and brain view the world at a 60hz minimum, thus we can easily tell the difference between a game running at 60FPS and a game running at 30FPS.

Install directx9c if you havent.
Install drivers for your graphics card if you haven't.
Try running game with opengl with "Launcher" in CS2D folder if you haven't.
Set all details in graphics to 0 except visible shoots, bullets and tile blending if you have graphics card from year 1999-.

With this it's impossible to have less than 49 with your PC. So if you still have spikes it means CS2D is not related - It's probably your automatic updates. I know because it used to happen every time with my old PC(same as yours).

Fix it like this:
