How about 2-3 referees who just watch the players without telling them? They could come from the ESL and it would be easy to detect speedhack, aimhack etc.

I play CS:GO and CS:S ESL. No one will come. Are you fucking serious? CS2D will not get to ESL, at least in the current state.

@user cortz: As far as I know HyperCam doesn't require much space due to the awful quality. The players can stream their screens then and the referee will watch those.

streaming can cause lagging for some players. Just accept that video recording is not a sollution.

Then again, if you want to play competitive games - get a decent computer.

Erm. I don't get you. You have a better idea? Okay. Code an anti-cheat. Go on. Well? Why isn't it done yet?

As i said, ESL isnt a priority.

What we lack is a good competitive scene, because of less player - newbies @ noob servers, etc etc.

How we expect us to go on ESL and work well there? Advertise would be good ofc.

First we need to change the community, and then talk about bigger things.

But like you said, the anti-cheat is a problem that makes more and more players [with experience] dont want to continue playing, because there are less tourneys, matches, activity.

I am hoping that TMK [creator of Guardian] will finally finish that, so maybe we can start thinking about next steps.

let me show you some of the games that are in the esl:

1) Blub Game
ESL: http://www.esl.eu/eu/blubgame/
Official Homepage: http://blub-game.com/hp0/
Anti-Cheat: ×

2) Haxball
ESL: http://www.esl.eu/eu/haxball/
Official Homepage: http://www.haxball.com/
Anti-CHeat: ×

Conclusion: an anti-cheat is not required for esl...

Let's look at the anti-cheat used in the esl for CS 1.6, CS:S, CS:GO and many more. (see: http://www.esl.eu/eu/wire/anti-cheat/ )

Name: ESL Wire Anti-Cheat
Cost: 'mid 6 figure sum of money' ~ 500'000 (source: http://www.sk-gaming.com/content/30883-ESL_Wire_anticheat_goes_online )
Creators: Anti-Virus Experts
Cheat-Proof: × (e.g. server side hack in any of the CS games and also some private cheats... in esl versus one could run esl wire anti-cheat on one computer and the game on another computer and the esl wouldn't recognize that as cheating...)

Looking at these two examples a replay functionality would probably be sufficient to get cs2d into the esl.

Does cs2d need an anti-cheat to grow?, NO! (cs2d has been bigger before without a working anti-cheat)

No one needs to reply as he is right (And yet I did). There are many cheaters and there are many fans. But there are also people working on CS2D anti-cheat solutions that may prevent the use of hacks in the game for a while - But there is no real solution, games will always be hackable and people will always use hacks. So stop bitching around like a whiny cunt.

I played more matches in the ESL than you two together. So just stop acting like you know it better...

you just don't understand it.
You want a cheat-proof anti-cheat in cs2d...
but not even in CS 1.6, CS:S, CS:GO there is such a thing!
Do you understand how unrealistic that is?

I don't understand you....
U will play in ESL without a AC yes ?
Ok, but what is when someone turn hack on and play ?
With what u wanna check him ?
U wanna give him for winning Tounament or League Awards and Premium ? For cheating in a League ?

So many players hacked in cs2d Leagues, AC caught "old" good pleayers and we was shocked.

I don't comment you guy's more.

it can happen that someone cheats in an online league and then wins.

this has happened in many games such as cs 1.6, cs:s, cs:go etc

that's the 'risk' of playing online.

however, cheaters usually get caught after a certain time... always

everyone knows that once someone reaches a certain skilllevel people will look at them closer and people will quickly notice when someone plays suspiciously.
then they will look closer and try to find a proof. eventually such a proof can be found.
this is how the better cheaters in the big games (CSs) get caught, because they use their cheats only when they know they won't be detected.

so e.g. a replay functionality would be a nearly as useful tool that would be much more feasible than an anti-cheat.

ot: many years esl didn't have a working anti-cheat (esl aequitas < 2.0 times)

heya,

long time no see.
I was just deleting my old accounts when I was approaching this topic.

In my oppinion you shouldn't just focus on the ESL itself.
There are a bunch of other leagues that may accept 2D, you just have to make advertisment in this particular leagues.

Here are some links that might help:

4Players - German League!

ASGL - Pretty new | I do not know much about them.

ESEA - Do not know anything about them, either.

Stammkneipe - German League!

My-League - English Site - Might be interesting since you can create your own league there!

One League should be more than enough at a time. If we start competeing in 5 different leagues, we will fail at all of them for lack of players. With only one league, there should be a realistic change of coming in.

He didn't mean to participate in all of them. Apply to as many as you can, see who accepted 2d to their league, and then choose the best variant.

US representative zeeenk, let's do this √

i dont think we should worry about leagues right now. the competitive cs2d scene is kind of dead
figure out how to get competitive cs2d alive again and then figure out league stuff

no retard would use speedhack for competitive matches.
it is not possible to distinguish, by spectating, between someone who aims good and an aimbotter who hides it well.
