old Bots follow/answer human radio commands?

I was wondering, are the bots in the current version of CS2D supposed to follow radio commands issued by humans on their team (e.g. "Folow me", "Stick together, team", "Regroup team", "Report in, team", etc...)?

I've tried issuing most all of the radio commands, but the bots just seem to walk around, and not pay too much attention to me (heh, just like my acquaintances in real-life LOL!).

Anyhow, I've browsed through the various Lua scripts in the "Bots" directory of the game, and with as little as I understand about Lua coding, it appears that they indeed should respond to the humans' radio commands (but I don't know?).

Lastly, are they supposed to audibly answer when they have responded to a command?

Just a bit of off-topic - since bots are "open-source" you can always make them follow your radio commands, I think.

I'm not sure I understand... aren't the stock/default ones that are included with the game already supposed to do that?

In the current "ChangeLog.txt" it's mentioned that in a previous version:

Beta 0.1.2.0 - 29.02.2012

FIXED
Bots ignored radio commands

Yeah, standard bots already understand some of the radio commands.

Take a look at bots/includes/radio.lua to see which commands are implemented in the AI script. It even tells you what bots will do when they hear certain commands.

The standard implementation is very basic though and you can't address certain bots with your radio commands! It's quite random.

It's fixed, therefore bots already listen to human's radio commands. I tried myself with command 'Follow me', and one of them was following me.

They don't appear to be listening to my radio commands.

I started a new game, joined the CT's, and then spawned a single CT. All he did was wander around, not paying attention to even the most basic "Follow me" conmmand.

I then figured, "what the hey", maybe something is messed up with my installation of the game (?), re-downloaded the ZIP, and ran that new fresh copy of the game. Same thing, I'm totally ignored by the bots.

Then, I downloaded and installed the "new Bots update by Loooser", and they do indeed respond to my radio commands. Are you sure that you don't already have that addon installed?

I'm a bit confused by all of this... as most of the files in the "new Bots update by Loooser" ZIP are about *a year and a half older* than the ones that come with the game (?).

(Edit) I had already typed up this reply and posted it before I realized that DC had replied.

Thanks for the info, DC Yeah, it must be extremely random, and my poor luck with the 'roll of the dice' so to speak LOL.

Sooo... I'm assuming that the general concensus is that the bot's by Loser are the ones of choice (verses the ones that come with the game)?

(Edit #2) Sorry to bump my own message thread but I was wondering:

I'm assuming that the file "new Bots update by Loooser" is the newest version of Looser's bots, and that the file "New Bots by Loooser" is NOT required by that "update" version?

Also, has anyone discovered any bugs or disadvantages when using Looser's bots, verses the stock ones that come with the current version of the game (as, like I posted previously, many of the files in the file "new Bots update by Loooser" are actually OLDER by a YEAR OR MORE than some of the matching filenames of the bots that are included in the current version of the game)?

Lastly, can anyone shed any light on the file "New! Bots Script *Fixed*"? It appears by several of the comments on that file's page that nothing was really fixed (?).
