I cannot run cs2d at 50 fps since I installed windows 8. My fps in the loading screen reaches 50, but in game it only gets to around 48 FPS. It kind of is a big deal.

I have a 3.2 Ghz quadcore, HD 6800 gfx card, 4 gb of ram, and can run most games on very high settings. Windows 8 professional, all drivers updated etc. Used to have 50 fps in windows 7, no problem.

What could be the problem?

Why you guys care so much about 50 fps?

Also, my fps around 48-49 and I don't see any difference.

Some people were (and still are) bitching that 50 fps was the limit. This guy is probably one of them. Doesn't surprise me that 2 fps are such a big deal for him.

These two frames are obviously taken for new Metro UI.

On my old crappy PC I had 49 fps all the time using win xp, then when I installed win7 on the same pc, fps became 50 although win7 takes 1gb and I had 1gb ram.
Meaning, sometimes fps is just a number, you actually have 50.

Win8 might be having a cry for itself, Metro is a bit of a fucked up baby after all.

My ruler says the line is 2cm long, but that's just a number. Really it's 45cm long. Sense, you make none.

No need to say he doesn't make sense. Although it's not "just a number" but I think what he tried to express was that "in CS2D the FPS +- 2 doesn't make a visual difference"

I do agree. 2 FPS isn't such a big deal..

What he said was that the program was running at 50FPS despite saying otherwise. The mathematics used to determine the FPS does not lie, therefore he makes no sense. Sensical, right?

You should try running it with opengl mode.
