old English Translation Suggestions

As an American that visits Deutschland whenever I can , I am aware that sometimes the words used in a foreign language aren't quite right. I thought I'd start a thread for native speakers to post suggestions for word or grammar changes. My friend Sascha always wanted me to get him an 'appointment' with a female friend of mine...took two months to guess he wanted a 'date'.

For instance, someone posted beeren = berries. Probably just an omission.

Some of these have probably already been fixed:

A wide knife used to hack plants is a machete.

Rind is only used in the common speech for the thick skin of melons and other fruits. Bark is the common term.

A liana is a vine.

Cotton is a plant, wool comes from sheep.

I'm not criticizing, so lock the thread if you are insulted. Ich weiss mein Deutsch is schlecter als ihren Englisch.

Keep up the good work!

Machete = The German term is the same
Rind = Thanks for the info
liana = And what is the Right term? My dictionary doesn't tell me.
Cotten<->Wool = We know it but even in the German version they don't differ between "Schurwolle" and "Baumwolle"

Thanks for the info! We always need corrections of native speakers.

The berries have already been fixed several versions ago. I had left it out.
Machete: Thank you. √ That was a mistype.
Bark: That has also been fixed several versions ago.
Vine: Thank you. √ I had copied that one from Bizzl's old version without checking it.
Cotton/wool: That's of course right, but cotton and wool nevertheless are the same item in the game and you can gather it both from sheep and cotton plants. If there was a general term in English for the raw materials for textiles and cords and stuff, I would imply it.

Thank you. Let's see if the next version works again so that the players can profit from the improvements.

A friend in the textile buisness told me that raw cotton (just harvested) is called 'cotton wool'.

Shows how literate I am.

Yes, but the game doesn't seperate cotton wool and 'sheep wool' therefore it is technically not possible to call the one 'cotton wool' and the other 'sheep wool'

I don't know if EC and bizzl are going to seperate them, but they have to do it if they want to give them their one names.

actually, only EC is doing this. I only contributed the installer.
However, I don't think he will change this in any way, since it would screw up compatibility with the original mod. it would be stupid to force german users to install the english mod only because they want to play a map made by an english user.
