Well, the older ones could get automatically approved too

Define "older"... some of the files which are some years old already are crap too. So it makes sense to review them all.

I think however that all or most files for other games than CS2D should be accepted because there aren't many anyway. Over 7800 of the ~8500 files here are for CS2D.

Older files of those users that are better at it already, only approved users would have those older files automatically approved too.

Approved user - someone who has proven his skill in the skins making already

Thats the whole point of my idea

@user zAzz: DC said he'll make a thread about it later but using common sense, I'm guessing you have to be an user that's been here for a while, active on forum (thus sees the files uploaded) and can evaluate a file fairly.

Reviewing @user CY: file will take a whole year..But how long does it take to 'review' a file
user DC has written:
@user omg: Actually a pretty good idea...

Don't know if this got suggested; How about a user option to 'request a review'? That request could then get feeded to the some reviewing board list that's accessible to the reviewers and any reviewer could choose to go over it.

user DC has written:
Of course very popular files should not be declined even if they contain bugs. Bugs are not a reason at all to remove files.

And files fixing bugs of popular scripts because the actual author is inactive shouldn't be removed either I guess. Unless there are good reasons to do so.

So there's this idea... to make comments to the approved files as well, like, for example:
Quote:
√ This file has been reviewed and approved by Someone (Somewhen)
> Recommended to download bugfixes there and there

Of course this makes sense only if there are more files of that type

Waiting for approval of my files when I see that moderators are also removing my immature posts from four years ago. Thank you for that moderator team.

Add a feature to report a file, over ~10 reports will decline it.

@user DC: Does every updated file in File Archive, remove "approved" mark to "unreviewed"?

No user Gaios. A file which had been approved already stays approved forever unless someone manually changes the status. Yes, this could be exploited but whoever does this will get punished. Reviewing already approved files after each edit would be too much.

@user DC: What I meant before with old bugged files is do they get their own review status? They cannot simply be approved as this would give the impression that they work no matter what. Approving the file but adding a comment pointing towards files which solve these bugs would be the most easiest solution. But I wanted your take on this to see how you feel about it.

@user Yates: Too complex, too much work. Not maintainable. I would just approve them unless they're entirely useless. Whoever wants can write a comment and link to fixes there.

Here's the reviewer election thread: thread us Reviewers wanted
