old Reversed sound output? (Headset)

Hey guys, I've been playing with my headset reversed (Left -> Right, Right -> Left) since I play 2D (7 years) and I have the feeling something's not right with the sound options in CS:2D. I can hear the enemies steps perfect ONLY if I have my headset put on reverse. Now my question is: Is there any option to reverse the sound output? I don't want to always put my headset on wrong, because it hurts my ears. Do I have to change the sound settings in CS:2D? What are the recommended sound settings if playing with headset? Looking forward, this thematic has been following and bugging me for years. I can't explain why I have to use my headset reversed so that I can actually locate enemies. Btw it's not just me my brother plays with reversed headset aswell (another headset - another PC), so it isn't a hardware problem.
(I couldn't use the search function of unrealsoftware to find if there's already a thread like this because my java-script is blocked - so sorry if there is another one).
Thanks in advance!

That's weird. Anyone else having this problem? I never heard of anyone complaining about it before. Does it also happen for you when you use normal speakers?

There is currently no setting to reverse the output because it does not make any sense to have it under normal circumstances - but it would probably not be a big deal to add it if you need it.

I actually never tested it with speakers. My brother and I have this problem, we play the game like really 7 years and we've had this issue since back then. Maybe some users here can relate to this? Because this is really weird. Maybe we just got used to the sound reversed?
If you could add that feature (if it's really not big a deal) that would be very nice. Wearing a headset reversed can hurt your ears very much (depending on the headset) and the mic is also directed in the wrong direction.

Obviously you're using your headphones the wrong way. Never heard of anyone who's using headphones like that, it's making no sense.

I think you guys didn't understand me

I know how I have to wear my headset correctly, but the thing is: the sound output of CS:2D (enemies, steps, etc.) is wrong and reversed if I wear it correctly.

That means if I wear my headset reversed, I hear the enemies/ steps correctly.

I wouldn't mind, but my ears start to hurt after some time and my mic is directed behind my head and not near my mouth.

What's the sense of your reply Simonas?

My sense is that I'm sound engineer and this case is really weird for me. Haven't seen headset that displays the sound in reverse order unless that is manufacture defect. Do you use the same PC or Headphones for 7 years?

CS2D displays the sound in the right way, that's for sure. DC could implement reverse feature, but that's weird.

I changed my headset 20 times, always the same result. I had 2/ 3 different PCs. Yeah it's weird I have no idea aswell. Maybe it's a certain CS:2D sound option that somehow puts it out uncorrect?

Having your headseat or headphones on the wrong way and hearing the footsteps more clearly does not mean this is intentional or that CS2D has gotten the sound output wrong.

Unless you mean the location from where the sound comes from is wrong as that is a totally different matter. So please tell us what you mean, because you may have gotten people to believe something is wrong when nothing is.

It's pretty simple.

When you have your headset on normally do you hear the sound less than others or do you hear someone walking on the right when he is actually on the left side of you?

Ok: I wear my headset normally the sound comes out normally but I locate them reversed.

But it's kinda weird because it seems like steps come out correctly but the shots etc. come uncorrectly. This is why I kinda can't explain it. I don't know what it is but I have it since 7 years and I'm not the only one. Like I said maybe it's a certain CS:2D sound option combination that bugs the sound output.

@user uLtR4: Okay now I'm lost. Your first post stated that wearing a headset normally makes step sounds reversed, but now you're saying that the step sounds are fine but shooting sounds are wrong.

I don't think you fully know what is going on, can someone else test wearing normally and see if anything is wrong and what is corrected when wearing a headset the other way round. We might get somewhere faster.

That's even more weird. In fact it should be impossible from a technical point of view because all stereo sounds in CS2D are played using the same function (I didn't check but i'm pretty sure). So technically there is no difference between step and shooting sounds.

Also this would mean that simply adding an option to invert all sounds wouldn't even solve the problem properly as only some seem to be inverted?!

In theory it could also be a sound driver problem. Did you try other sound drivers in the CS2D options menu?

@DC it would fix the problem for me, because I'm used to play like this and I can locate positions when I play like that. Yeah that's what I'm trying to say maybe a certain CS:2D sound option + certain drivers bug the sound output. But I'm not really known into hardware/ drivers so I can't help out with these questions.
I tried every option actually, always getting a weird result. Sometimes the sound output has deeper tones, sometimes the output soughs (signal noise).

@Yates this is weird enough, you're actually confusing me with my own problem. I'm gonna give you more precise answers when I'm at home.
