I downloaded Stranded II 2 days ago and everything went fine on high quality. Today I started the game and the menu was working on 5 fps, even if I set the quality on minimal it doesn't work any better. I tried to start the batch file but with the same result. I don't know what changed since the last day, nothing was updated (I guess).
My PC:
CPU: Intel Core i7 6700 @ 3.40GHz
RAM: 8GB
Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 380 Series
Windows 10
DirectX 12

Try to run SII in window mode. Find the required .bat file in the directory of the game.

Weird it ran fine the first day and not the second day. Seems like your computer was changed not SII.

Google a program called HitmanPro. It is a tiny download and then just run it. It is free to try for 30 days no info to download. It is a spectacular cloud base virus scan and remover.

Then press Win-r and type msconfig. Check the Selective StartUp and check Load Services and uncheck Load Startup Items. Restart your computer.

If that does not work then try the Windows Vista & 7 .exe available for download at the SII website here:
> Windows Vista & 7 exe
Put it in the main folder & replace the old exe.
The Survivalist_06-25-17 is now available. DOWNLOAD HERE >The Survivalist 06-25-17

Sadly none of them worked, maybe a program updated itself when I wasn't watching? Can't tell.

That kind of happened to me.
Try to lower your grass quality landscape quality and water quality.
And try to play in low resolution if possible.
(To be honest I think the cause of the lag is the grass and resolution)

Wow! Actually only the water detail was the problem, everything else is on the highest and the water is on minimal. If I put the water higher the solid 30 fps drops to 11 and lower. I don't know why is this happening and why wasn't it a problem before but I'm glad that it has been resolved.
EDIT: This is working in debugging mode, in the exe file I have to change the resolution to 800x600 too to make it work.

Are you using a notebook? If so, are you also sure that your power setting at the "Max Performance"?

The water quality setting shouldn't be the problem if it wasn't before. There must be something else.

No, I have a PC, and the performance shouldn't a problem. The game itself doesn't consume anything on my computer, maybe the game does not use the computers full capacity, only a part of it?

Maybe it was made to run like on a 2008 pc?

Most likely a driver thing. Modern GPU drivers are often not properly optimized for 10 year old software.

Trying other video drivers might help.
