I also began with lag yesterday, I think it's CS2D problem.

You enter a server and start the delay, that's what happens

Lately there was a huge ddos attacks and that slowed all players not just you, and since you're in india, this may affect the speed of your gameplay since the most servers are in germany and turkey.

@user ShreefTheHunter: I know better of ddos and it's not the reason cause I have been playing from last 7 years and I know what pings I will get from the servers I play from years.

Bandwidth clearly is not the limiting factor in the scenario. CS2D uses way less than 1 mbps for clients. The crucial part is your distance to the server and the quality of the entire network architecture between you and the server. This includes hard- and software. Yours, the servers, your ISPs, routing points', the server's ISP/datacenter.

Some questions to track down possible issues:

• Do other fast paced multiplayer titles (like multiplayer shooters) work fine?

• What kind of connection do you have? Regular cable connection or something special like satellite? Are you using WiFi (if yes: even that can cause issues, try to connect with a cable)

• What is your internet service provider? It is possible that some providers do special package prioritization (QoS). You can google it or contact your ISP to ask.

• What router are you using? Any special settings? Security options? QoS options?

• Any special software? Security software? Firewall? anti virus might cause issues if it has a network packet scan module or crazy stuff like that. You can try to disable ALL firewalls and anti virus software (including win firewall and possibly firewalls integrated in the router) to make sure that they are not causing issues.

• Of course any kind of proxy is a very bad idea for online gaming and you shouldn't use any for playing.

• Do you have a good connection to the servers you're trying to join (full and green ping bar in serverlist)? You can use Run > cmd >
ping IP
to see how fast packages are sent to the server and back and how much package loss you have (note that this is done via ICMP and not UDP so routing/QoS might be different). Everything below 100 ms is acceptable. Higher is critical. Package loss should be very low, best 0% (you can also run
ping -t IP
to get more samples and end with CTRL+C)
