@user SQ: Ok let's talk about the whole situation. First of all I told this:

@user Yates: Not I don't trust SQ but is just to prevent scams or a attempt to use the money and don't work for the feature.

You just made me read a thread with 10 pages for nothing, I didn't see a comment asking for donations (not even a link). So where I will donate the money? For DC (with a text "money for matchmaking only")?
Second you didn't provide info like how much you need, what are your primary goals and stuff like that. And you need promise to your donators you'll work for the feature until the end or you give the money back (because getting the money and tell you didn't got enough and stop working suddenly is kinda a scam for me).
Lastly DC can help you with gfx (we don't need fancy stuff now just something simple), cs2d.net and cs2dworld will offer the servers you want with high quality so what you need more?

Okay, this is annoying as hell, you totally ignored what I said and have no idea how DC stand in this.

I'm out of this discussion related to competitive from now on.
Good luck helping DC with competitive.

I'm afraid that some people still don't understand that implementing this actually isn't a big deal. Maintaining it is. You need a server infrastructure for the matches and you need people observing it and getting rid of cheaters. And of course you need enough active players as well. None of this is likely to work well long term which is why I won't invest time in implementing it.

I also stated already that it can be done with Lua as well if people really want it and are willing to invest a few hours of scripting.

Just make a match making server which uses cs2d cmd reroute to send players to actual match servers depending on their stats.
The match making server and the actual match servers need to communicate for stats exchange but there are many ways to do so.

Someone with a bit experience should be able to script a rough system for that on a single weekend.

People are too greedy for money, when they need something, they try to get it as cheap as possible or completely free.

@user 1uP: money donated to developers used as motivation and personal needs but not specially into cs2d. I wont believe that you can do a simple game for people and anytime you see it growing up you wont want money for hard coding and making everything better without motivation.

Also in ending if no players these implemented things are bring, but all the work is made well, the donuts might still work as a payment for the time.

There is nothing free in this life, kids accept it and nobody would do something for you for free just bcs you asking for it and telling useless arguments, most of you just silly(note i mentioned kids only(tbh not only kids like that, ee))

I have followed this project for a long time and I didn't see SQ asking for money at any point. I remember PCS made fundraising some time ago and they got all the money in one week. Make an official thread and prove that you won't scam everyone. Also, this lack of respect for competitive players and adding new features to their side of the game without asking them is ridiculous. They are the main factor of this game and without them, this game would be long dead.

@user Black Wolf: Also, this lack of disrespect for competitive players...
The fact that competitive won't be in the game, is the same to 1 guy lifting a truck. Now answer this, can 1 guy lift a truck?

What I'm trying to say is

It's just a couple of guys who are supposed to maintain those servers, for a small amount of people. Unless you want 2v2/3v3 matchmaking.

Look, nothing prevents us from having such competitive matches, just that it won't be the same as CS:GO, which is what most people expected it to be.
Implement some Lua scripts(thank god for that), get some admins to take care of the server(to watch for cheaters and griefers) and you've got yourself some kind of a competitive.
Take for an example King Arthur's Gold. If you have played King Arthur's gold, the game is definitely not dead, but too many pro's play it, so there is from few to no newbies. Nobody wants to get owned that much. Hell, they even created a server for newbies but no newbies play on it. Since the server for newbies is always empty and boring.
Even if we made a competitive server, the only ones who would play it are the old-CS2D-pros. Steering away any new guys.
Another example, Ghost Recon Phantoms (a free to play). The game started out great, but eventually, in late 2016, it died of the same reason KAG currently has. Too many pros against newbies. And newbies were the source of income for them.

TL;DR
• Competitive that others want is the same to CS:GO, that won't work since there isn't enough players for that.
• Even if we had a competitive, it is going to be newbies vs pros. Or just pros against pros but no newbies in it.

Thought it a long ago. Wouldn't be original.

And for fuck sake, I already find very normal that user SQ begs for money. He has already done many things which we can easily say that is enough and deserves a bit of anything.

He wasn't and isn't begging. He simply said, just a few times, that he would appreciate support from the community in the form of donations.
