So heres my idea & current project plans
(Dont flame this claiming to have thought of it 1st or that im stealing ur idea bla bla bla b4 i even describe my idea fully)
Well i wana see if it possible to make a mini mod for CS2D > CS:S2D but not a simple skin conversion like others have done.
heres a list of my ideas...

1) I wana (& currently attempting to) create new player gfx files that allow the player to have weapons with stocks IE the back end...

2) New CS:S based weapon gfx files that are to scale with the players & with stocks
OH & btw im making the player GFX files as concept art 1st & ill post them to give u guys a better idea of what im thinking
3) Realistic & individual weapon sfx & reload sfx for each weapon similar to the weapon reload lua already posted here.

4) Each weapon will have their own (2) reload sounds IE when the gun is empty their will be a similar sfx file but with an additional bolt pull sound, slide action, exc.

5) Each weapon will also have 2 gfx files example a pistol will have a version with its slide back when reloading for a added realism bonus

6) Each weapon gfx & sfx will have 2 files regardless to allow some flexibility with custom skins that ppl may want to add.

7) Each player will have their own leg gfx files 1 for each type of player CTs 1-4, Ts 1-4, Hostages, & VIP I'm hoping this will be possible with lua scripts.

& most important of all I want this to be a COMMUNITY based project With every one willing to pitch in with ideas & files.

9) I want to make all these lua files as well as everything else PLAYER side only regardless of what servers they are playing IE the reload lua wont disappear in servers other than ur own like say the STALKER v1.2 mod reload lua...

10) There will also be a flashlight function via the f key it will also be player side only if possible. I want to make one that's actually useful in dark lit maps with fog of war on.

11)There will also be a lua script for custom scopes on all scoped weapons IE Sig552, Sig550, G3/SG1, AUG A1, Styer Scout, & AI AWP >:3 This also allows some flexibility for skin makers & users to further customize their skins

Tell me what u guys think & btw im hell bent on actually making this mini mod so plz don't try to threaten me or tell me to stop unless u have a dam good reason (even then don't be a prick about it) >>

{EDIT} Yea im making some basic concept art of the player & weapon files so u guys get a better idea of what im thinking off.

As for the reload sounds, that's rather easy. Set the reload sounds to blank sound files, then go get custom reload sounds for each weapon, preferably in 3 parts or so. (So if the reload is canceled mid reload, the sound could stop by not playing the other one-two sounds.) Use lua to make them play on reload, timing based on reload time.

I just thought about the how many people just told us their awesome and totally great ideas and nothing happened. But then i realised...im in unrealsoftware! I guess there is a 11% chance in one day, that somebody post his/her ideas...and not realize them.

So please, before you tell us, what you want to make (or actually dont want to make...or just dont make), make something. Do some cool sprites thing, make some really crazy lua-scripts and so on.

So, before you starting to flame me and send me some ridiculous pm (seriously, i get a ton of them when i tell somebody the truth. I guess you guys have problem with "the truth" i.e. "the force" or "42"), you have to know something.

1. I just laugh like hell and maybe fell off my chair. But i like my chair.
2. Do something. Dont just say "but i will make them <instert flame/spam here>". If you can proove you want to do it...and you are able to do it...we will trust you. At least, the guys who didnt trust you at all until this point.

I just read that...sorry. I stopped reading after the third sentence. Anyway, i think i just give you some good reason. The reason of your failure is your failure. Dont think to much about this sentence, it just drives you crazy and you fell off you chair...in case you dont like your chair is pretty good. Then go buy a new one.

But hey, i dont care. Im a prick and on a roll. There will be like 10, or maybe 15 people who say "wow spf, this was really funny as you told her/him the truth, youre cool". Then there will be some more who start laughing...about you. Then there will be people like "god damn i hate spf...i hate when he tells us the truth <insert random silly flame here>". Then there will be hardliner. But, i never see one.

Right now i think about on which side i am right now. In the cage, our outside. But i guess that doesnt make sense. And just i like told, im on a really big roll.

as for results the concept art is almost done & the RPG skin kick started this project...so plz stop bitching.

More or less im focusing on the players 1st & at the same time the new weapons since i have to make them all fit together properly.
NOT AN EASY TASK WITH WINDOWS PAINT >>

& For any other flamers out there this mini mod is my idea but I want it to be a COMMUNITY PROJECT as in im gona need help from other ppl especially in the lua scripts department...

Also about the lua scripts being server sided only err I was afraid of that but what the hell might as well make some dedicated servers when a working beta is finished

it's probably not clever to announce something in a big way before having some solid and convincing results.

everyone will think that you are just talking about it and that you have not the required skills/time/motivation to actually realize your ideas and plans. it's a thing which ALWAYS happens in threads like this one.

you just chose a bad approach. so don't wonder that some users are "bitching".

I didn't know about the other HL1 mod in progress so thus I was shut down. I made this thread to see if anyone else was already making a CS:S mini mod or project ... This was also too see if anyone would be interested in my idea.
& btw my HL1 mod had a full complete level of "unforeseen consequences" + weapons, players, monsters(zombies only), & sounds i ported from the original HL.


{UPDATE} >_< I had to remake my original M4A1 abit to fit the beta seal team CT >_< 6 hours to get it just right the player model only has the rifle gfx poses done ish atm... now i have to edit the pistol poses as well as the reloading poses >_< ill try to have the beta CT & M4 done by next Wednesday at the earliest & post it as a beta skin on the skins page so ppl can evaluate my efforts >>

{UPDATE} I am looking for any experienced ppl in the areas of lua scripting & editing audio files together IE weapons firing & loading sfx. Message me if u are interested. All contributions will be welcomed & authors included in the credits / design team

I know mine are more specific to the mod it self. IE the custom lua scripts will also use custom reload player model weapon models. Example m4a1(1) "idle" m4a1(2) "reload A"
m4a1(3) "reload B"

Each weapon will have 3 such gfx files...2 reload & 1 default/idle. This will give makers of skins some flexibility in making their own custom weapons.

Basically the lua will activate a gfx file to temporarily replace or cover the main weapon model. It will all be timed via lua.

An example would be when reloading pistols. when the gun is empty the "idle gfx file will be replaced with the same model but with the slide shown pulled back. I know its kinda hard to comprehend with out a diagram ill have thos posted soon to help ppl under stand

Also my reload sfx will have 2 variants. 1) empty weapon reload & 2) partially empty reload. that way it will add a bit of realism by taking into account weather or not the weapon has a round chambered

eh kinda hard to do since all I have is MS paint I do have the original CSS buy menu pix tho The beta weapons will not be exactly the same tho they will be the same guns just a bit more realistic since that how i make em Version 1.0 will have both player & weapons textured & shaded as close as possible to CSS so fear not :3

{UPDATE} Due to the fact that the reload anims use the pistol pose mean that there will be 2 different versions. 1 For left handed players & one for right handed. Right now im working on the right handed version. ;3 Also sry about the slow progress ppl this isn't easy since I also have to deal with work & my family >> Kinda get in the way on my time schedule. O well hast makes waste i presume.

The CT left handed player models are done ish I still have to texture & shade them using Gimp (still learning how to use :P) The right handed player models are roughly around 90 % done. I still also have to do the T players & the rest of the weapons. I also have the original buy menu pix from my CS:S but i have to re size & edit them a bit.

IF U WANT TO HELP THEN MESSAGE ME I need some one to re size the buy menu pix for me Ill email u the files If u agree to help.

{UPDATE} Ok b4 any one crys & or complains I will be using the original CS:S buy menu pix but re sized. I have both the CS1.6 & Source pix almost ready to go & this is just for the sake of making the game feel a little bit closer to the original CS & CS:S games All rights naturally go to valve so yea I only take credit for resizing the originals For use in CS2D.

ANOTHER UPDATE
Well guys I have the beta CT1 (seal team 6) done As well as some beta weapons such as the AUG, FAMAS, M-4, AK-47, Knife, machete, & wrench ( red pipe wrench) DONE

So my Question is should I release these skins for ppls opinions & evaluation or would u guys prefer to wait for a complete player & weapon pack all at once?

Maybe I should make a poll Eh screw it ill make one
