I'm making zombie maps and I want to know how to make them dark... I was able to do it when I was playing cs2d back in the days but now I can't find the option.

select Env_sprite in entities menu, then in the "Image File" bar choose blood.bmp, then the colour choose black, then in "Trans. (0.0-0.1)" type in 0.5, then click OK, after that, if you want to make your whole map dark, in "X Size" and "Y Size" just type both 16000

Aye, my way: Make an image 32x32, all white. Put it in your sprites folder.
Go to your map, put a sprite entity at the very left top corner. Select your white sprite. Size: Depends on map size. Go apeshit with 9999x9999 or 16000x16000. Whatever.
Make it a shade. Hit the black bar for the color picker. Choose a darker color for a darker map. Choose something like 90-90-90 for night.

Make an env_sprite, then select the sprite "block"... put it as Shade, and select a color, between gray and black.. on the X and Y you put how much pixels the sprite will have on it size...
OBs: 1 Block of the editor is like 32pixels, then if you want to make a maps with the correctly darkness and light, open the computer calculator and put 32 x <how much blocks the sprite will have>
Sorry about the english... .-.
