A big hello goes out for everyone. I know I am new here (and you can call me a noob because of this), but only ten days was enough for me to totally get mad about this game. I think thats enough about me. Let's see what will the name hide:
This topic will be a collection of my Hungarian translation. I will show the progress in the first message, to make it consistent.

Progression:
> Adventure mode :: Maps finished: 7/7.
> Scripts :: File finished: 94/94.
> System scripts :: Scripts finished: 18/18.
> Voices :: Speech finished: 30/30.

Current plans:
° Extra maps from users and Unreal Software
° Documentation
° Website

... it will grow over time (I will start in little steps. All good things come to those who wait. So, I learned that patience is a virtue, but waiting too long for something is commonly referred to as laziness. (And I don't want to reach that.)

Already finished:
∗ Base game (voices included).

Don't let the plans fool you, here are the details:
The translation of the base game is finished. It just need a place to upload it. I saw there is a section named "File Archive", and I have a question about it: can the users upload files to it and update it, or have an option to delete it, and upload a new version? The Stranded II website means that I'm planning a mirror in Hungarian language.
Currently I have a home server that have a 2Mbps ADSL connection and serves as a webserver. I use this method because I fed up with free webservers, and their poor PHP5 support. It has the negative effect that it can be slow, or unreachable sometimes. I plan to make it as a base of the Hungarian site.

Dear readers: I would like to hear about your opinion of this initiation. If I build the pack, is it worth to make a release after a plan is successfully finished, or it's better to make it a whole great pack? As Sir Thomas Wyatt wrote: Patience shall be my song. (From "He seeketh comfort in patience.")

You can download the latest version from the File Archive.

Version history:

yes, you can do all of this. upload, edit/update, delete. however the file section is for english/german files only.

it's a nice idea and I would also host/link it at the official Stranded website when it is finished someday.

old The Hungarian Pack is uploaded.

Thank you for the quick response. I tried to upload the first version, and it seems that 5 MB is not enough. So, I left out the hungarian voices. Also (because the limitation) I prepared the pack as a "file replacer", and I included the instructions for the installation. Currently you can see the fonts are using an incomplete Latin-2 charset.

The first uploaded verion contains a translated intro, and the first island is just started to speak the new language. The translation of the adventures is not checked. Also contains a translated Tower Defense level.

I hope this pack will be finished soon, while I make the translation I collect my ideas: I have a vision of a "Stranded II" which is multilingual.

The first post is updated, to reflect the state of my progress. Currently I working on the adventure mode levels.

Stay tuned!

For DC, if something is wrong with the package feel free to modify. Also I made a hungarian description after the english one.

if you need more space: use the Stranded II mods section. it allows you to upload 15 mb instead of just 5 mb.
(the misc section if fine too. both sections fit in this case)

How can we handle it then? Is it easier to delete and upload into the other section (mods) or can we move it into the mods section?

The progress has been upgraded, so it reflects that "The adventure" has two level finished.

I can make the "Multiplayer mod" translation, too. Currently the only problem with (Multiplayer) Adventure mode is the following: If you start the game in adventure mode, you cannot leave the Intro. The answer for this problem can be that you leave out the intro, and make it's story into a diary note (the first one) and you start on the first island. 40 days until the new version of the multiplayer mod, so I have time to prepare for it.

I uploaded a full package (which contains the Windows Se7en patch), so it causes the following:
Cons:
• Slower download because the size is bigger.
Pros:
• Easier installing
• Portable package (just unpack and run)
• Because the Windows Se7en patch, it can run on Windows Vista and 7.

I thought it can be a great present for the guests. It's a celebration gift, because the download counter reached one hundred.

Soon the website will be finished, only the writings for modifiers should be finished.

PS (2013.04.01 23:00): I know this topic was inactive for a while. I had some real life activity without computers, but now i can work and play with Stranded 2 again.

Stay tuned!

Edit 1 (2011.09.04):
@DC: May I include myself in the credits section as a hungarian translator, and hungatrian voice actor of the game?

Edit 2 (2012.06.30.):
Great news, that I am finished the hungarian translation of the multiplayer mod. Are you interested in other versions or mods translations? Please tell me, because I eager to help or do it.

Edit 3 (2013.04.01.):
Because I can't update this topic without comments I must use the 'Mark as New' function, I hope it won't abuse the rules. It wasn't visited by other commenters
As you can see we have the translated version of the Multiplayer mod, which was created by 'The Oracle File'. I would like to ask if is there anything that can prevent it's distribution on this site's file archive? If someone involved in the multiplayer mod can answer my question I will gladly follow the rules, to make it reachable for others by legal ways.
