To converte sounds use Easy cd-da converter If you already have the files as .wav, thats easy. Just rename and replace. If they have a different extension find a program to convert it.
Hope this helped. I use (Audacity) and it's free. Search on GOOGLE for it. i have FL9 studios and i can convert every sound and i can make music with it 
Yea I also use FLStudio 9 Pro edition its VERY good for any custom sounds but be warned it may be somewhat difficult for 1st time users & sadly its not free
