1. Download: This: http://www.unrealsoftware.de/get.php?get=cs2d_0118_win.zip
And this: http://www.unrealsoftware.de/get.php?get=cs2d_0118_linux.zip
2. Extract both to the same folder (also read included txt-file)
3. Install: libstdc++5 http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gcc-3.3/libstdc++5_3.3.6-18_i386.deb
4. Open the Software Sources menu by going to Applications->Ubuntu Software Center, then search WINE and install it.
5. try run it.

the sound issues arises somewhere in ubuntu 10.04 and the problem remains in 10.10......
actually to play cs2d on ubuntu, what u need is just the windows zip package and the linux binary, then put the binary into the cs2d folder, change the directory to that folder and execute "./CounterStrike2D -24bit -fullscreen" (without quotation)
i tried wine so as to get rid of the sound problem. that is exactly the same as in windows except some machines only supports opengl but not directx
