Net speed booster? Omg, when will you people learn that it is impossible to actually increase the speed of the line you rent? This is also highly unlikely to be the source of your problem.

Low FPS's are governed by several things, one is an overloaded GPU or CPU, two a GPU or CPU not up to the task of playing the games you want to play, three software running in the background of your machine using up lots of system resources, four ( in CS2D ) lag can cause massive amounts of turrets shooting at once lag your CS2D client and eventually cause it to throw the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. The list goes on and on and on.

You are running alot of programs!
The "Applications" tab in the Task manager only displays applications that are visible in the Taskbar.
Clean your PC and kill those processes like XFire and so on.

Close CS2D. Look at that green bar of the task manager. If it's still pretty high, you need to close some programs. If it's completely dark, look at the RAM you have. If you have more than 1gb, you should be good for playing CS2D. Otherwise, look in to getting and installing some more. If it is more than 1gb, post your system specs (Control Panel > System > General in XP. Not sure what it is in Vista/7)

Don't look at applications - look at processes (in taskmanager).
If any of them is using much processor space, search it's name on google and click on the windows helpdesk stuff. It tells you if the process is a virus or a normal windows program.

--

If you find out you have something like a virus, search the name again and how to delete it - Search the map(of the process).

When you find it you might not be able to delete it at once. There are programs which can help you deleting (erasing) other programs from your computer. Search for one and use it on the map.

--

If you can't see anything at processes using many processor speed, you can look at your C:/Program Files etc. You could find some programs/applications/processes you never use. Deleting them is one of the best ways to get higher processor speed.

--

If you don't search alot on your computer (for programs and documents) you could decline to use the faster search engine. It uses alot of memory, and you almost never use it.

Go to This Computer
Right-click on C:/
Choose Properties
Toggle the indexate function

acctualy you could do this.

Open CS2D , fullscreen.

Options -> Uncheck
• Player Shadows.
• Item Shadows.

Particle Details - Verry Low.
• Bullets
• Visible Shots
• Animated

Now , Go to the GAME tab , and put level of Gore to LOW / verry Low.

You can also do this : (at More tab )
• Huds select the huds to low then the default numbers, where is 8 do 6 and so on.
• Hud Fireinthehole ( Radio Message - Fire in the HOLE! - 0.

It realy decreasses the ammount of lag you can get in game.

If this dosn't works out so good you could do the followings :

Tell us your PC specs ( system , ram , ghz video .ETC)

Then , At the start of your PC close programs that start by themselfs.

Open the damn thing up and read the labels.

Nah, jokes, there are like 3 or 4 posts on how to find your system posts above. Usually I would probably just say you need to check how much rAM you have, you can do this in Task Manager by going to the Performance tab. It shows you the amount of memory/CPU usage is, and also the amount of physical memory in your computer.

No, OA, that isn't in the Task Manager's Performance tab, lol.

@Mephiles:
As you can see your CPU usage is at 100%, that's scary, how many programs did you have running? With 13 programs open right now I'm only using about 9% of my CPU ( it must be recognised that I'm running a Phenom II X6 @ 4.2GHz, right now ). You may need to be upgrading your PC from shit to shot in a little while.

It's the ram! Try this. Press start (The windows flag down on the left) Then something called Run (Kör in swedish)
Click that and a box will come up in the corner. Type in DxDiag there. And then OK. Then you got to wait. like 20 seconds. Or maybe 10 seconds. Then make print screens on all of them.

Or download speecy http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download/standard

----------------
And copy the text you get.
----------------
I recommend speecy.
And i've got 50 FPS on my computer and this is my specs:

MS Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP2
CPU
     Intel Celeron
     Tualatin 0.13um Technology
RAM
     256MB SDRAM (3-3-3-7)
Motherboard
Hewlett-Packard HP System Board (Socket 370)

     NOKIA 449ZA @ 1024x768
     Intel(R) 82815 Graphics Controller 32 MB v-ram
