Hello!

I think game would be more interesting if players would have some movement acceleration. It means if you stand (with zero speed) and you push [W], you wouldn't get full speed at once but it takes some time to gain. It wouldn't have to be long time, only a few.

Next idea: What about dash? Imagine you have some energy bar which is still regenerating and you are able to use it for dash. Your speed will increase until your energy is at zero.

I think, if i look at the game now, it is static playing. This could help with it and make game more funny and action.

This can be done with Lua scripts, but it may cause issues when people want to pause and then move backwards, because they are constantly slowing down and speeding up.

So the acceleration would take 0,5s only or something around that...

Half of a second... are you fucking mad?! It would need to go to full speed within 0.1 seconds to be even remotely usable. Watch how long it takes for the second hand to tick, and halve that. See how long it is? It's greater than my ping, that is how long it is.

I don't care how long it would be, it is only idea. The question is: what about dash idea? Do you like it?

Every fucken time someone asks for a request, everyone comes in and says "This can be done with lua, lua this lua that", nobody cares if it can be done with LUA.

I'm afraid that not everyone is good at coding, & they want it actually implemented in CS:2D.

Anyway, not a bad idea. I would prefer you to be able to press a button which would let you Walk/Run. & maybe even add some design.

For example:
• When you Run with a gun, it hangs out of your body. It would give it a realistic effect.

Habib: You're absolutely right! I'm sure it can be done by LUA (i can code it) but it is not the same as game implementation. LUA is for individual servers which have the script. Game implementation is for anyone everywhere.

Anyone can do anything. Learning Lua is a ten minute job. It's not like you are actually learning a new dialect.

And, btw, you can run/walk in CS2D already, just hold shift to walk, you shouldn't need a rocket scientist to figure that out for you.

EDIT: It's written 'Lua', not 'LUA'! Lua is the portguese word for moon, it's not an acronym!

I already know that you can walk in CS:2D, but you obviously didn't read it properly.

P.S: I don't give a shit about LUA nor how it's spelt.

If you're going to be that much of a grammar Nazi, you might as well change the 'intelegence' in your signature to 'intelligence'.

@Habib

The fact that you can't Lua doesn't mean it's bad and must be eradicated. And we're as tired of people posting ideas for new versions that can be done with Lua as you're tired of us saying 'it can be done with Lua', you know.

That's what professional educated scripters are for.

What if anyone everywhere DOESN'T like the idea? Have you ever considered that?

That's why i made this topic. I'd like to know if it's good idea or not.

Firstly, it's not grammar, hehe. Secondly, everyone makes mistakes, that was a typo. I know how to spell intelligence.

Okay, minus the whole Lua thing, I guess a dash thing would be cool, but what about Standard servers? When you have been hiding behind a crate and just realised that someone is charging at you from behind with a shotgun using dash, with your slow start off you would be roadkill. That is my main concern. If servers want those things they should use a Lua script. You can't always have things like that in the game itself.

+ this sucks because the players are no cars.
+ 99% of all players would kill me for doing that. I remember how fucking upset everyone was when I changed movement once. many still hate me for that and they want the old crappy version back just because of the movement

I better never change the movement again
