I know this thread is kinda old by now but I have a problem and I haven't managed to find a solution for it yet, so maybe one of you guys can help me:

basically, I hava a monitor with a 1280*1024 resolution and I want to run the game in 800*600 resolution because if I run it in the native resolution of my monitor all the tiles seem to be way to small for me.

so I have found a way to play in windowed mode with 800*600 resolution but it's annoying because I have to do it every time I start the game anew:

• click the middle button of buttons on the top right of the window in order to maximize it (the resolution is then automatically set to 1280*960)
• go into "settings" -> "video"
• click "go fullscreen"
• go into "resolution"
• click the resolution 2 times so it changes to 800*600
• select "back"
• click "go windowed"
• select "back" 2 more times

my question: does anyone know either
> how to start the game in windowed mode with 800*600 resolution directly
or
> how to save my settings permanently?

I just would put the resolution at 800x600 and click "Go fullscreen" to do it. It works fine for me. It also stays permanent.

In HardMode corruption spread in whole my world

Then I used to make holy water, and make world hallowed.

It's supposed to spread faster when you enter hardmode. Best thing you can do is use Holy Water to create the hallow or block the corruption with something that it can't spread through.

@user Doberman: I think if you place sunflowers coruption needs some time to spread

Sunflowers won't stop the spread of Corruption in HardCore mode. The only time sunflowers stop Corruption altogether is when you are not playing HardCore mode.

@user Doberman: heh a huge gap of brick's should stop it

I think you would have to build around the whole of the corruption in order to stop it though.

I currently keep a little bit of Corruption so that I can enemies such as mummies to spawn. Other times I also need materials that only drop through the Corruption as well.

but I want to play it in screenfilling windowed mode because when I exit the game from fullscreen mode for some reason my desktop resolution suddenly is 800*600 (even though in the settings it still says it's 1280*1024!) plus my wallpaper is gone

when I start the game it already is in windowed mode and has the resolution of 800*600. but then again the window is not maximized. and upon pressing the 'maximize window' button the resolution of the game automatically changes to 1280*969 and everything's so tiny again

My single Player old world in Terraria is 72% Corruption and 10% Hallowed.
Try to beat that

The new world's great, because there is the snow biome between my house and the Hallow, and there is a huge natural cave in diagonal between the Corruption and my house. So both will not spread.

@user Hurri04:
Wow... that is some complex shit. Blame C# and XNA, then sue Re-logic for messing up your computer. Yeah.. really no idea how you can change it then. It is something to do with Windows and XNA screwing each other backwards.

You want big tiles without fullscreen enabled? Because AFAIK that's impossible.
If you maximize the window it will set to your default resolution, but it doesn't look small...

My game starts with 800x600 windowned, and each time i start it i must maximize it again, but that's no problem...
It looks like this (doesn't seem small at all):

Wow nice :D.
But the Gold one looks a bit beige.
You should make it a bit more metallic, like with stronger shading or lighting.
