All windows have a lot of useless shits,that eat your hard drive:why i need buttons from W95?If you will lounch Messenger once,It will always lounch at startup.Setuping windows is difficulter then Ubuntu.
I have 50(!) working processes on my computer!
6svchost.exe's!

SVCHost is a process for running background services, things that make your computer work. Messanger is not part of Windows XP, it is a separate application. Uninstall it. And 'Buttons from W95'? WTF? Setting up Windows is not that hard, really. It's actually disgustingly (Literally) easy. And, on a final note, XP SP 3 takes up no more than 5gb of your harddrive. If you cant spare that, then urdoinitwrong.

You cannot into Windows 7 proper using. I compose music, make movies/special effects, code and script on Windows 7. It works so fast. When I log in I can start any application and it will start immediately, you don't have to wait (in case you're using XP shit). My Windows 7 has no useless shit - I use all the functions and I'm happy with that.

I'm guessing you bought a computer with Win 7 preinstalled and are comparing it to a computer you bought with XP preinstalled. I bet that if you installed XP on your far newer computer, applications would start up just as quickly.

Nah, I installed everything myself. The bad thing about Windows - is that you need to reinstall Windows every year, in my case it's every 6 months.

Why every year? I've ran a stable and often used Windows XP installation for 5 years (?) straight.

Because you use it for games and other useless stuff (no offense), and I work using Windows. Registry gets dirty, system32 gets dirty, everything gets dirty.

XP is full of crap, old and outdated shit. XP sucks hard. No discussion.

I agree, but since 90% of computer users do use it as their primary operating system it's not doubt that hardware vendors will make more applications that will only work on that operating system. If you do happen to have all your most used programs on a system then you are lucky. Most people can't stand to leave behind their games, files, etc.

XP is best but Microsoft will end support to XP in 2014. For gaming XP is best. Not wishing extra RAM or whatever.
Vista is crap. 7 is better then Vista but not better then XP.

My choice is 7

Windows XP of course.
Even with the release of 7 and the discontinuation of support for XP, it still owns.

XP, it's faster

Now I'm not sure about that, speed depends mostly on your PC.

All who likes XP. I would like to know the reason why XP trumps all ? windows 7 is the fastest nicest and most advanced OS created by the microssoft. Xp is just old and hard to use. Win 7 is easy to use.

Xp = bad looking           Win 7 = good looking
Xp = slow                    Win 7 = Fast
Xp = Unsafe           Win 7 = safe
Xp = Old                    Win 7 = New

All users using xp should upgrade to win 7 imiditaly. Thouse who say xp is best they never had any other OS. Vista was bad becouse it was beta version of windows 7 bugged like dunno what but the OS itself was better than the XP. People seriously before you say something you should think twice and add some reason becouse sayin "oh Xp BEST it RULES! Win 7 suck vista suck all ops sucks" it is not really convincing is it ?

So please stop say that and this sucks and add your own opinion instead of someone who is jelous and cant afford Win 7 or never tryed win 7 and insulting it or just heard friend saying it sucks so you think it sucks too. I say NO! Own opinion = character and thouse who havent got opinion are just massive copies of people who think same.

Win 7 FTW cant wait for win 8 this is future people !

I hate W7 because need to large for computer:It will eat all RAM of your computer if you probably have nice comp 4gb.Butifull but shit!I have seen face of w xp looking as w7 but it need only 0.5ram.
I will buy new power computer and will install here w xp 64bit.
But i will do it than I7 will not be so expensive and i need usb3:
Intel core I7
4GB ram
Some videokard by nVidia(1-2gb)
all USB3.0 >8 units
500-1000gb HD/SSD(but I do not need that MY comp have 5gb my own and 17System(Fucked W7Starter)
As you gave gessed it is System block.

I need so power PC because I will test/play my genius game with FullHD resolution

Haha this made me laught a bit. Saying facts that are not true nor proven. As far as i can tell you dont need better pc than running xp. Also people who cant run win 7 have to be pretty poor with pretty bad pc. I am not saying its you or anybody on this forum so dont take it perssonaly. I can tell 512mb ram 1.8ghz-2.0 ghz ONE core processor is enought to run win 7. I can buy pc like that with win 7 installed for 150€ which is nothing compared to my 1000€ Gaming pc.

Erik963 it's not the Windows 7 which is fast - it's the new computers which are fast.

Windows 7 uses a crapload of resources - old computers can't even run it. If you run XP and Windows 7 on exactly the same machine, XP will turn out to be faster. Try running Win 7 on my old desktop and you wouldn't be able to do anything because windows 7 uses all the RAM and half of the hard disk.

Don't forget that the basics of the Windows 7 kernel date from 1993 and are also used in Windows XP. The only thing that has changed are some stability updates, which probably cause instability in other parts.

Vista was Windows 7 beta? Sure. Windows 7 beta was Windows 7 beta, Vista wasn't. Too many differences.

I also say XP is the best Windows OS (closely after 98 ), and I've used 95, 98, XP, Vista and various commonly used Linux distro's. I've worked a few times with 7 as well but haven't had the chance to really test it.

How do you think safety has improved in the OS itself? What did they change to make it safer? Windows Defender you say? Pretty much everyone uses better software for that, something that actually works. Anything else? Not really, huh?

Oh and I just saw your edit, please look at the system requirements for XP and Windows 7. You say you don't need more?

These are the recommended 32 bit system requirements:
XP: 300 MHz, 128 MB RAM, 1.5 GB HDD
7: 1 GHz (1000 MHz), 1 GB (1024 MB) RAM, 16 GB HDD
