Well, I've been trying to get some video clips for a frag video I want to make but it's really laggy when I record. I doubt it's got to do with my computer since my specs are pretty good, so I need your help

Video Capture Settings:
50 fps

Lock framerate
Don't sync audio and video
Hide mouse cursor in video
Force lossless RGB capture
are all unchecked.

I'm not recording with sound btw. help would be appreciated.

Even though you say your specs are good I would still like to know some bascis:

os,ram,cpu core,cpu speed,vid ram,vid speed,etc,etc.

>Is it laggy when you record with other programs like xfire? Maybe it's just fraps.

>Are you recording at a very high resolution? Set it a few res' down.

Windows 7
4GB ram
AMD Athlon(tm) X2 Dual Core Processor 3250e (2 CPUs), ~1.5GHz
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

I honestly haven't tried recording with Xfire yet, no comment.

about my drivers being up to date, I'm going to do a system restore tomorrow.

The best thing for recording videos with fraps is having a double Video-Card, or one Video-card with a internal processor.
Recording always lags, except when you have a damn good computer.

That's strange. I have one of the worst gpu's available on the market, and I can record at 40 FPS full size with just a minor delay.

So what if you try recording at a lower framerate? As long as you don't have to play yourself, 30 FPS will do.

I'll just record with 60 fps, it's the best that I'm getting (40-48 fps in-game). Thanks for helping out, topic can be closed.

you know. if you record 36 frames per second. Fraps will record that. if just 20 it'll record 20. Also if you hit capture button the frames will go down right? thats becouse fraps.
