Yup, I hate it when people do that. Comparing different genres is just silly.

On a second thought, they are the same genre aren't they? It's funny though, how despite that, the gameplay is so different.

Well, i cant really say they have same genre, minecraft in early stage was just building game at all, now its still same but with some adventure elements, while SII was for adventure with less and limited building.
But if dont mind the creative mode, they have same objective - survive on the island while building yourself a roof above your head and hunting for food. And maybe...that might be called 'genre', but dont really sure

s2 is more fun for me personally.. minecraft everything is to easy, and gets rather boring.. just digging endlessly looking for diamond and fighting off mobs..

s2 just has more "replay" value to me i guess?

It lags on my PC too.But minecraft is buyable which is making the developer able to make some shit like minecon, minecraft pocket edition,Xbox360 with minecraft theme and other stuff. Now look at the Stranded 2.Its free, interesting and no one don't no about this game.

Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine

In Stranded II you face up with the struggle for survival

Minecraft is better because you can build anything you want, not what you can like in the Stranded 2.

You never see how big minecarft is russian kid, Do not play in minecraft SP but in SMP too. I am a server developer, now i am making minecraft server, I can make many things in my server ... because I already add some perks etc, and do not think only in stranded that has npc, minecraft have it too..

As everyone is saying, Stranded is an survival adventure game. Minecraft is a survival building game with it's own adventuring. If your truly going to compare look at everything positive the games have to offer.

Minecraft
• Easily changeable graphics
• Nearly endless repayableity
• Multiplayer
• Created using Java
• Lots of freedom
• Huge fan base/community
• Multiplatform
• Active modding community
• No real objective other then to survive (I know the end is an 'objective' but I mean you can play without knowing about it)

Stranded II
• Map editor
• Singleplayer only
• Lots of mods
• Created using 3D blitz (Right..?)
• Easily moddable without needing to have any programming skill
• Active community
• High replay value

This is about all I can think of at the time, I am a fan of both games but I really would rather play Minecraft then Stranded II.

No offence, but minecraft requires a basic intellect level to play. Also, you can die pretty fast in real life too.
