@user dENd: , xXPikachuXx, EpicCrisis, Tau: My point isn't that we should become a bunch of mourners. The story is very emotional mainly because of the sequence of coincidences and the ending "Do you believe in Angels or God?" / "I do".

I do not. We humans bear the final responsibility on this planet, and while we should strive to a position where we can save ourselves from death, there is nobody we can rely on to do that for us.

Other than that, I do not consider a human born with an eventually fatal disorder evidence for any kind of mighty, superintelligent and benevolent being.

Quoting myself:

If I were trying to manipulate a large audience into believing a story I wanted to tell them, that'd be my course of action.

Now I know what the motivation behind this is.

Even if the story itself is true (which I am ready to believe), it could easily be instrumentalized to promote a propaganda, which is anything but unlikely, taking the things that I stated above into account.

Nope, there isn't. Without the emotions we have, nothing would have ever been done by the human race. No book written, no thesis protested, no discovery made. What drives us forward and makes us want to carry on living are our emotions. Without emotion, we wouldn't be human.

That, of course, depends on what you call an emotion and what else you are talking about when talking about human minds.

By emotion, i mean any and every feeling ( other than ones generated by physical means, such as touch, hearing, sight, etc ) we have. Without interest, would we want to push past the galaxy barrier and into the wide unknown? Without fear, would the Cold War have started? Nope. Nothing would have EVER been done by humans that could be considered an achievement if it were not for emotion.

Now you say emotions are "feelings" (whatever that should be) that come from the inside, without direct connection to physical events outside the body.

No, you don't score a point for that. This doesn't answer anything about emotions.

If you want to say that everything within us with the exception of our senses is responsible for everything we humans ever do, then you're trivially right, but that's not a sound (meaningful) argument.

However, my point from above (how humans high on emotion act irrationally) still stands.

@user Tau: What propaganda?

A religious propaganda, as the educated reader might have guessed.
