And wasn't Einstein's claim that it is impossible to travel faster than the speed of light recently refuted?

It was not refuted, it was a miscalculation because of the inaccuracy of our* instruments.

My point still stands.

There are technological and scientific breakthroughs which were thought to be impossible in older days.

Mankind is smarter than you think Sync, I mean;

- When 'Jesus' was believed to be born, most civilizations were a mess. Roman emperors became stupid because of their aquaducts made of lead, most religions were at war with eachother..

The science tho, invented shitloads of improvements BEFORE the roman invasion of many lands. During it they had to invent better antidotes and shit for their rulers and better flaming arrows for the army.

- In the Dark Ages, heaven was a complete scam for the poor. They thought their life was bad because god wanted it to be bad. They died young and poor, while the rich and the church just played around with them. They started wars and the weak and poor people had to defend 'their' land for the church.

- Now we know about the mischief of the church in the Dark Ages. We know about the crazy Roman emperors. Why?

Because Romans knew how to write. Religion was more about luck and love.

And then, in the Dark Ages, almost only people from the church knew how to write. They wrote about horrible deads and going to hell and shit to keep the poor people scared. Religion was about suffering and how you were born.

Can't you see Christianity is one big lie and people believing in it are not smart enough to understand the true meaning of it? At least, at this time. My grandparents still believe in god, but like 'He' is a great and forgiving person. Nobody on my school believes in god, I'm on some super high level smartass school. I know people in lower level schools. Most of them believe in god.

Christianity is about your knowledge, about what you think it is, although it most certainly is wrong, and about age.

Those who know nothing, teach. After you have studied the Bible, and I'm talking the Dutch Bibles from early times, you will see that those people were simply taking advantage of those less fortunate than themselves. That is not Christianity, what you say. Christianity did not originate during that time period, it was written many years before.

Now this is the worst argument anyone could use. Because no matter what we say, you could easily reply by saying God made you say/do that. Get a better argument please.

Well, I was expecting that you would not accept religious arguments to prove the existence of God, so here's another try: how about the fact that there is an extremely small probability that we have appeared on this planet, which is near this Sun, which is at the exact distance from Sun to have water in liquid form, we are not in the neighbourhood of asteroids, comets and other dangerous stuff, we have the Ozone layer that deflects us from the Sun's radiations + other cosmic radiations?

The universe is infinite, therefore there's an infinity of planets just like Earth.

Just to clarify this: It's not clear if the universe is infinite. We can't even know that, because light or any electromagnetic radiation is too slow to get to "the end" of the universe. So the universe might also be finite, but the end is so far away that light hasn't managed to get there and get back yet.

Btw: I'm christian too. And I like it. And I don't like that everybody here is so intolerant. Some guys say: religions are shit, because religions cause war. They are wrong. Intolerance causes war, and you are being intolerant by saying that. Be tolerant, don't hate somebody for believing in something. Just let him live in peace and he let's you live in peace. Everything is okay then.

There's this metaphor I use:

There's a drunk man driving a car,
he crashes it into a tree.

Who's fault is it? The car or the driver?
The driver afcourse.

So you don't blame religion for the trouble in the world,
it's the individuals that use religion as a tool for evil.

Exactly. There have been several theories that state that if you move through the Universe without changing your direction, you'll eventually arrive to the point from where you've started moving (assuming you can live that much). Whether infinite or not, it's clearly that the Universe is continuously expanding, so this might be the reason why it seems to be infinite. Also, the Worm Holes and Black Holes might give us some clues about the Universe's limits.

Well, we have the Bible as evidence (not exclusively).

no. I didn't say that the universe is finite either. I wanted to show you that it's something you can't know. I can't know that god exists, but I can believe it. You can also believe that the universe is infinite, but it's not proven.

A religious man told me once:
"I sometimes understand why people dont belive in God.I asked them ,why dont you believe in God ? They said that they only heard of him but never saw him or his miracles so I said :"You believe that radiowaves exist but you never saw them, you read something in the newspaper about someone and believe that they are like that but you never met them..."

PS
Im not that in religion but still...

And so relativity comes in. For those inside, the universe is infinite as they can never reach it's boundaries. But from the outside it's finite for it has boundaries.
At the end of the day Einstein is right, no matter how the fuck you put it.

@user dENd: I never stated that God does not exist. I can't do that, no one can. I just doubt it, and as a free individual I chose not to believe in it.
