well maybe people like you dont need it, but youtubers like me need good upload speed for countless videos....

VADemon I don't know what you mean by local server...From Adjud (which is a town 12 km from me, where the master switch/server/idk how it is called is located) comes the fiber optics which gets decodified 20m from my house, and from there is just a normal internet cable that gets pulled in my pc.


Ok....here I tested with the Bucharest server (which is like 230 km from me (so I bet that it is not a local server anymore))



And here is with London (notice that I am from Romania... London is pretty far from me)

JustARandomPlayer your results are interesting. What I meant with "local server" is the following: your internet traffic (e.g. the first and the second speedtests) probably did NOT leave your ISPs network, so you measured not your internet (global) but your intranet (local, within ISP networks) speed. This is great if most of your traffic doesn't leave Romania.
To be sure, make some tests on servers in Germany or Poland (they are closer to you than UK) and if you get something around ~10mbit/s download then my theory about a strong intranet would be correct.

well you can see that the test was taken on 3rd October 2011. What a fail ;P

my connection is 8 down 2 up, will upgrade that to 100 down 50 up soon. Wonder how good it will be

yea , but when i was in frensh connection speed was like bullets , now as sh*t ... 20 mb , is pretty nice ..
