You don't take weed, you smoke it.

You can't really call it harmless. It depends on the person, for some it can be deadly.

I hope you don't smoke weed because I think it's illegal.

It's legal here, thank you.

Though, it's not deadly.

Then why ask someone which obviously knows more about weed than you "Do you even know what weed is?" when he said it's not deadly. You contradict yourself every time, go away.

@user Yates: Weed is a drug. Every person reacts differently to drugs. Some people die from drinking alcohol, some die from taking any amount of drugs, including weed.

No.
There is a special thing that forms in our body in order to make the reaction between alcohols (the class of chem. substances) and everything else in our body possible (the only alcohol that is accepted by our body is ethanol tho, C2H5OH). This thing usually forms when we reach the age of 21. Tho some people already have it when they are born and some people don't have it formed ever. It's not an illness. Without that thing, the alcohol becomes poison.

What?
Are you talking about liver, the organ? If yes, that with the age 21 and so on is bullshit o.O it's an organ we need to clean our body of poisons that we consume, which are in many consumed things, not only alcohol. After that poison is seperated, it'll go in our bladder until we urinate. Everyone (except for some disabled people, maybe) is born with that. It's just that your liver will get used to ethanol more and more if you consume it regularly, thus your tolerance to alcohol will become higher.
If you mean something different, then please name what this 'thing' is, that 'forms' in our body.

1.
Everybody has a liver from birth, you make no sense.

2.
Alcohol or Ethanol isn't in all consumed things. Everything ending on 'anol' IS an alcohol. Also, people can ALWAYS die from alcohol because it's pure poison to the human body. It's sometimes even acid and always damages brains and organs.

People still drink it because in the Dark Ages it was used to control the huge ammounts of peasants. Religion was used aswell, and monks brewed beer.

3.
YOUR TOLERANCE TO ALCOHOL DOES NOT GET HIGHER. Your brain just gets damaged badly that it doesn't feel it when it gets hurt with another load of poison. Also, your liver DOES NOT APPROVE of alcohol in any way. If you drink more alcohol you're not immune to it IN ANY WAY.

People die from a too high ammount of beer ANYWAYS, you can't 'increase your capacity'.

4.
Also,

- Modern alcohol is sometimes made from petroleum.
- Ethanol is used in many detergents and disinfectants.
- Link.
