• A server option that tells clients to turn on their lighting settings because of the map - only at the lowest setting that supports shadows, though! (if forced)
• A server option to pick how much delay (in seconds) which players can reconnect, an example: 5 seconds delay on reconnect.
• CS2D warns the user that there are some files that MIGHT be important to download, if their download settings don't allow downloading/have a lower file size download limit.
• Anti-aliasing for fonts and possibly edge smoothing for the game.
• Rich map information support - support for images, tags like (CHANGED, ADDED, REMOVED), etc.
• Customizable FPS capper (e.g. limit only up to 30 FPS)

Of course it depends if you have a gaming laptop or a poor laptop and how big the battery is, also it wont save a lot but it can save around 5 to 10 minutes of life time on 25 FPS instead of 50.

@user Mami Tomoe: Try guru3D's RTSS. I think that it is kinda ridiculous to have a powersaving feature on a very low demanding game like this. Not to mention that it would result in a big gameplay disadvantage.

However I support the idea of giving the server and map info files a bigger toolset.

If you are on a laptop then you should lock your CPU to minimum frequency (Energy Options in Windows) and reduce the screen brightness. Else the CPU will run on full / higher clock from tkme to time consuming more energy.

And user DC cannot increase nor reduce FPS because it's how the game is made. In theory it's possible not to render every 2nd frame, but trust me, your background processes use more CPU than this kind of "improvement" will ever bring.


Anti-aliasing is already applied where needed and it'll make the text look worse.

The grenade launcher really needs a faster projectile. It just doesn't feel right at the moment, no one uses it and this is sheer because of the lack of speed. Increasing it would make me (and probably a lot more people) use it more often, right now it's a "meh" weapon which I never think about.
