actually if you weren't trying to be sassy, you would realize this is Dc's intended style, otherwise the first concept would be set with a realistic style.

its fine, you can admit your wrong.

Oh, I'm so sorry I don't jump to conclusions. I should have just taken a look at the concept then completely assumed that it would be the final outcome, how silly of me!
Sorry for the trouble, I admit that not jumping to conclusions is incorrect.

Don't worry, DC has self-respect and will not charge people for an unfinished fucking game.

I don't really see what these devs are trying to achieve in making Early Access survival games that have nearly no content and creativity.
The only good Early Access survival game in Steam is Don't Starve Together because they actually fucking use Early Access for playtesting and the game has sufficient content.

Its great to see that you will be rendering trees extremely close rather then distant like S2

Small things like that will make the game so much prettier
I also love the lighting and bright vibrant colours!

So being slightly cartoonish, would you say the tropics would have more vibrant colours then real life?

I think that ultimately would make it nicer to look at.

Edit: how goes working on the first playable concept demo?
I would be very interested in doing a video on it when its available

@user Jawohl: Why just a video? I could just release a small demo when something playable is ready

Yes, the colors will be brighter than they are in reality. Same as in Stranded II. Also all/most textures will be hand drawn (also like in Stranded II). The grass texture and the grass sprites are actually already hand drawn. The trees are placeholders but I really like them so at least some of the trees in the final game will look pretty similar.

By the way: The standard grass sprite density will be much higher than in that gif.

no sorry what i meant was i would do a video of the concept demo on my youtube channel to help support it.

that sounds great! i love the trees too, they look very fitting

im still trying to work out what sort of textures i should put on my wattle & daub houses, and the ship models i made to make them more fitting for stranded 3, il send you some picture when i finally get them done

i have literally no experience with hand drawn textures, so im having trouble trying to get textures that suit both the model, and stranded.

edit: do you happen to have any plank/brick/daub/straw style hand drawn textures?

Indeed, terrain is out-dated so far in Unity 5.0.
People are developing new one from the scratch, it should appear in late 5.1 versions or 5.2 I suppose.

@user DC: Hey, I've been wondering if the development of the game is so far to hestimate the maximum amount of players it's going to handle. I'm still curious to know about this.

@user DC: I don't know why you've problems with Unity. That's weird, I'm also using Unity(5) and Blender(2.75). Everything works fine, for me. I didn't had any problems, yet. Just the scaling is a small problem, but you can scale anyway in Unity.

That's the point. It's bad that you have to fix the scaling/rotation in Unity. I don't want to have to do that because it's not a clean solution and it should be right directly. Moreover in some cases it's not even possible to fix it in Unity. For example when I'm using my models as terrain trees/detail meshes. I can't fix the rotation then.
