I must say,that Cave Story is cool 2D pixelated game,which is pretty awesome. It has a very long and interesting story,and it is just fun to play it. One of my favourite games.

Well, abandonware isnt is "illegal" so you can download it for free, i recomend you some free abandonware games like The elder scrolls arena or the elder scrolls daggerfall (not sure if it's the name, it's the elder scrolls 2) there are more of them.

There is this flash game (so it means it's free) that has good story and gameplay. I got my character to the maximum level in the arena mode and I got bored so I stopped playing it. I've done all the levels except the last one in mission 1.5 (Ground Zero).

P.S.: I would recommend you to watch the flash movies called Madness Combat 1-10 because if you played the game before watching the movies, you wont get the story.

There are some pretty neat sites where FREEware games can be obtained. My best free game with a nice storyline.
Stranded II.

There´s a standalone addon (freeware!) for crysis called "Wreckage".
I´m not sure if there other languages than German. It´s a really good game...

Search for "The House 2", it is a nice game with an average plot. I'm sure you will be scared a little.

I'm talking about the actual game. SURE< it was generic. But it made me laugh and scream in frustration at certain events. For a freeware game, Stranded II's ORIGINAL story was pretty neat. I admit, it's not a Lifetime movie or a virtual Divine Comedy. But it was a neat story.
