I always get an error message that says "ACCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" I never really did get this error so its new to me :/. I try to download directx 9 but it never even installs it. All what it just says is "components ready for installation". Even the FAQ doesn't solve it. Anybody has an idea to solve this problem?

I never changed any files. I only did change the sound driver. None of them work so i just changed it to the default one.

@user D-D3ADxPro: I believe you are trying to run the game from the Zip archive. That doesn't work, that might've triggered the exception or access violation warning message.

Try extracting the contents of the Zip archive to a location on your harddrive and name that folder CS2D. Then try running one of the binary executables within the CS2D folder namely "CounterStrike2D.exe" and it should be able to run fine. If you get blurry text whilst running the game, I recommend you to change rendering mode by making use of the Launcher which is a binary executable that exists within the Zip archive by default.

Test differences between rendering modes by changing from DirectX to OpenGL. If nothing like that works report back to us any problems you encounter, so that we may aid you in solving your question.

This is just madness. You should REALLY think before posting.

The OP has already played Counter-Strike 2D, which states he knows EXACTLY how to install it. He also uploaded a file which could never ever have been created by running in the zip file.

I am mind blown by this ridiculousness. Not sure why you are moderator (No offense).

• Topic.

ACCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION can be caused by updating to a newer OS which your PC should not be running.

I once had the problem with Minecraft when I updated to a new Windows version. It was all solved when I got the older one back. But that was a few years ago and it's also a different game, but the principle is the same.

No disrespect but, you can clearly see that he posted also this...
user D-D3ADxPro has written
EDIT: Nope. The zip just says acception access violation.
I just assumed he ran it directly from the Zip archive, that's not a stupid assumption as many people actually do this at times and expect things to work. I'm just trying to solve a question here.

Could you please elaborate on why I cannot question that specific part without you interferring, user Conscience? I'm only doing my job here if that's the least I could do. Please don't be all negative on me as it's only human to make mistakes, we all do. I doubt that even you are flawless, so please will you stop? thank you.

I'm sorry but if that's not logical enough, I don't know what to say sorry but this is how I look at it. Please take it as it is, but don't be all jumpy.

On-Topic:
Run dxdiag on your computer via (Start -> Run) and check if you have Direct3D or DirectSound installed, if you do not see that installed then that's assumably the problem. As that's what CS2D uses sometimes in order to be able to run fine. But you never know, it could be other things aswell. And please, try to be nice to eachother. The last thing we want is a flamewar, eh?

@user KimKat: You don't get it. CS2D DOES run via the .zip
My point is you are assuming things while not knowing whether they are true or false. You will never be able to help someone without own experience or simply testing to see what does and does not work.

This is why I said I don't understand why you are a moderator, I could see you banning someone for a reason which is invalid.

But this is just me being all concerned about everything.

@user Conscience: I just assumed that it's not possible to run CS2D directly from a Zip archive without receiving a error message such as "failed to load graphics" if you know what I'm saying here. This wasn't possible before but it appears it's possible now. But it extracts the contents to a new folder and runs from there, so it's not really running from the Zip it just extracts and runs basically. I'm right in any case. But I didn't know that you could extract & run files easy like that before when using WinRAR. As it didn't work like that when extracting previous versions of CS2D with WinRAR that's why I thought it wouldn't be plausible at all. I guess I'm partially wrong and right at the same time. You too for that matter. So, I guess I'll be humble and say that I'm sorry my bad, it's only human to make mistakes and please keep your opinions about me to yourself, we're not here to troll. As I said before.

I had run dxdiag, and for the results, I have direct x 11. I try to run the launcher for Direct X. Still says acception_access_violation. Although, if i put the sound to normal, it wont pop up as an error on OPENGL. How do you think im suppose to install direct x?

EDIT: Only OpenGl doesnt show the error. Directx does.

@user D-D3ADxPro: I can only say this now, run it in OpenGL mode, as it works for you and try to set sound mode to something that works for you aswell as there is quite a variety of sound modes (in ex. OpenAL, FreeAudio, DirectSound). I imply on that you use that for now and look up any solutions on the web via different sites such as Stack Overflow or Yahoo! Answers, so that they could provide you with further details regarding your problem as some websites could have the solutions necessary for this specific problem that you have and that you personally probably want to be resolved. I can't give proper help regarding DirectX because I'm not really a DX Developer. Just being honest, I wish you good luck with your search and you can still reply here if you need to.

Stack overflow and yahoo answers doesn't even have the solution for this error. Opengl makes me lag. (5 FPS - 17)
No sound drivers work for me.

What operating system do you use user D-D3ADxPro?

Windows XP doesn't support DirectX 11 because it's too modern for older systems however DirectX 9.0c or 10 works fine on Windows XP. Perhaps that could be the problem, in that case you would have to reinstall DirectX 9.0c or 10 on your Windows XP PC if you have got that. I'm only guessing now as I don't know.

If you've got Windows Vista or 7 you're fine with DirectX 11, why? well because I use it on Windows 7 and I get no such errors like Exception Access Violation (EAV) whether I'm using DirectX or OpenGL rendering.

It could possibly be a problem with your sound setup in your OS or in CS2D itself, that's what I'm guessing on as it's highly plausible that it's the main cause of this problem.

My computer information:

OS: Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit(6.1, Build 7601)
System Manager: Gateway
Processer: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processer 3400+, ~24Ghz

I downloaded Directx 9.0c at the windows main website, and when done installing, it says that the components are ready to install. I don't think they put up a download link with the full Directx 9.0c package.

I am now starting to download directx 9.0c

About the extraction thing: WinRAR does the following when running EXE files from archives:
• Extract the entire archive to a temporary folder
• Run the EXE with that folder as working directory
• As soon as the EXE is stopped WinRAR will ask if you want to save any changes which were made to the files in that temporary folder in your archive. It will put the changed files into the archive if you click yes.

It was always that way (well probably not always but WinRAR works that ways for years already). It's not a feature I added to CS2D or anything.

Unfortunately not all unzip tools work that way. You normally have to extract manually before being able to run the game.
