I'm working on a 2d version of a popular Garry's Mod gamemode Trouble in Terrorist Town. However because of the lack of client side scripting in cs2d, it will be a little different. This post will be updated frequently.

What's working?

Now I'm going to explain how the current karma system works. The karma is there to make sure players follow the rules, even when admin is not present. However one can reset its karma by rejoining the game.

Base karma is 1000 and the maximum is 1500

Karma is exponentially scaled so the higher you go, the harder it is to get more karma >

If you let your karma drop below 1000, you'll get punished >

You gain 5 karma every round and 30 extra karma for a clean round (not hurting own guys)

I have one cure for rejoining exploit: the server links your usgn id to your karma. This would be easy to make but how should we handle non-usgn players? I suggest changing their base karma from 1000 to 800. (edit: DONE!)

About the non-usgn players, maybe turn on cs2d cmd sv_usgnonly. That could be good too.


I support that idea.
Maybe, you should add at the beggining of each round, the names of the traitors ONLY to be seem for the traitors, so they could see who are the others traitors

@user Zanahoria: There's already a red shadow under fellow traitors but I'll add that message thingy too.

I pushed a new big update: Dead bodies and Missing-in-Action (MIA) state! When you kill someone he actually gets teleported to a waiting room. A gray body appears in the place of death. When one goes next to the body and presses "E", the player will be "found" and moved to spectators. This way the MIA players still appear to be alive on scoreboard and innocent have no idea how many players are actually already dead!




I also had to create a new map: ttt_dust which has also a special room for MIA players.

I have a suggestion that would make the game times more interesting and engaging.

Make it so that Detectives can see then killer upon body inspection. Of course they won't know whether the killer is a traitor or innocent, their name should appear white as if suspicious.

You could also make it so that only the Detective can see the killer message. He then has to decide whether to tell the others about it, or investigate the suspicious player by himself.

I'm also about to finish a map for TTT, it's nothing too fancy but should be way better than ttt_dust.

@user Livia: Well, I meant the messages that appear when someone changes his team. (I said it like that because I guess it's the only "team hud" that can be hidden with cs2d cmd mp_hud)

Edit: I just realized that it can't be hidden yet, or probably I don't know a proper way to do it.
