Why CS2D does not look like this?

I do not mean a prominent abundance of blood, and talking about the realistic style and dynamic gameplay.
I agree that the comic book style image also has the right to life ... but it's not an adult - it is like a children's style. I think the game should be further developed, and not just be a comic book style copy of cs1.6...

Those gifs look impressive. Where did you take them from or did you make them yourself?

But I need help with it, because I'm stupid), in principle, there is nothing complicated, just too much of a hassle with images and animation - is spending too much time

The Hong Kong Massacre [Top Down Shooter]
First of all the trailer is done and can be viewed over here:

Thanks to Revin Goff for the nice music.

Hopefully it shows some more stuff than the gifs released so far.
The Game
The work on porting the game to Unity is proceeding well. It has forced me to make a couple of decision on what the direction the game will take.
The biggest one is graphics. The idea from the beginning was to keep the 2d topdown style when moving to Unity, this will probably not be the case. Instead all the graphics will be made in 3d with a topdown camera with small perspective on it(although if you want a orthographic camera this could be an switch option of course).
Still testing this out but it will most likely stay that way. I have a very talented 3d artist that has taking over the graphic part and it is looking very promising already.
So whats the good and bad thing about this potential move?
The good one is that the game will look much more nicer, with shadows, textures and all that. It will allow the world to be more "alive" with real physics on objects, destructible object like doors will alos help to create a better "action feel" in the game.
And using 3d characters with motion-captures animation will help to up the quality a lot and also opens up the potential for dives, rolls and that kind of movement.
The down side is of course that the scope of game increases a lot and will probably slow down the development some. And I can also think that it might move away to much from the original concept graphic vise (as seen in the trailer) so it might actually feel a bit like a different game for some people. (Don´t worry it will still be very bloody) I guess we have to wait and see.
But overall I'm quite excited about the quality of the stuff that is already up and running in the game now, so it will only improve further and hopefully lay the road for a better game in the end.
That is all for now.
Thanks

Because it would lag so much and it's unnecessary.
Also I think CS2D should stay as vanilla as possible.

It not lag.
What is necessary at all?
And as i say earlier:
"I agree that the comic book style image also has the right to life(it can be like a pack of skins) ... but it's not an adult - it is like a children's style."

CS2D doesn't look like that game because I obviously didn't invest as much time and effort into graphics and particle effects as that/those guy(s) did.
Looks great.

We can help you with ideas(realization), code and graphics - you agree to "invest as much time and effort" into cs2d?
I'm trying to make a mods, but it would be nice to do it in game as original features.

BaDgEr: In your opinion - graphical visualization affect the gameplay?
I do not see a fundamental difference between these two games except for the graphics. Mechanics of game remains same, original gameplay remains as it was.

Hong Kong Massacre doesn't use Blitzmax. CS2D does.
Hong Kong Massacre is singleplayer. CS2D is multiplayer.
Making the mod should be easy; all you need are some smoke animations for the guns, one blood splash animation and some blood sprites to put on the ground. All the basics are already in

Just like @
Pagyra: Quake Arena, it doesn't effect the game, just use it's own bat file to launch the game.

Alistaire: You probably inattentively read my message.
As wee seen in gif images or video trailer? (small analisis)
1 ) there is animation of hands (it consists of 6 layers)
2 ) there is no shadow layer and no feet layer(in cs2d it is)
3 ) there is animation of effect of hitting wall or other elements with the animation of effect of destruction
4 ) there is animation of death (3-4 sprites)
5 ) there is shader of water and rain
6 ) there is cool animation of side explosion
7 ) most of particles is like projectiles - it is reflect by walls
8 ) blood spatter does not change the fact of getting the walls - this is only the sprites
9 ) flight of bullets is not instantaneous - ie each bullet flies at a finite rate and time
10 ) there is static sprite of lens effect
11 ) there is effects of ricochet and "slow motion"
"in principle, there is nothing complicated, just too much of a hassle with layered images(like a virtual persons and environment) and animation - it is spending too much time"

Pagyra: , this is cs2d, not another stuff. Cs2d is limited, but doesn't mean that you can't make a mod about it. Look at your Quake Arena mod, such effects. You can do it as a mod, i knew it.

Yeah @

If you want to create some campaign or story mod like Half-Life, you must make two types of script.
Scripts
Create it and put at lua file. It is used in every map.
Map scripts
Create it and put it at map file. Used for only one map, and didn't used for other maps. Like the Flappy Bird mod. It is used for special function or npc image walking.
