I have come a long way on the survivalist mod but there is one thing about it I have not been able to resolve.

I am asking if someone here would be willing to download the mod and re-compile it so the Random Map small map is larger.

I would actually want the small map to be around 3-4 x larger If anyone went that far I'd really like additionally, the medium and large map to both be a touch larger

simply put so I am not misunderstood, instead of Small, Medium, Large...i want Medium, Large, and Very Large to choose in the Main Menu.

but still call them small, med, large.

and I don't want them ridiculously enlarge to cause lag, just a step up in size ...if nothing else I would be happy with the small map being 3 times larger.

I have nothing to offer for this service except the mod it self...hope you enjoy playing it...I just hate the small map and I can not compile/decompile.

Thank you in advance...just leave me a link here to the download please...It would make my day as I'm finally almost done with the mod after almost 2 years of hating the smaller map option, and spending days trying to recompile it. I failed

Noticed your thread while checking out the forums after a long time. I helped recompile the exe for massive mod and as luck would have it I still have the source on my computer, so i went ahead and made the changes you asked for in the source and recompiled. ∗

Small used to be 32x32 - i changed it to 128x128
Medium used to be 128x128 - i changed it to 512x512
Large used to be 256x256 - i changed it to 1024x1024

If you want the sizes changed just say, I'll be checking this thread for a couple of days.

P.S. Your mod looks like its very fun, I shall definitely be trying it soon! √

hey man thanks so much!! didn't think I was gunna get a hit here
This is really really exciting for me!

EDIT:
hmm...i gave it a try. The medium map is like 32x32.
The medium map is smaller then the small map...I'm sure that's not what you intended

EDIT2:
After further test play...the large map is simply to big and lags really bad at 1024. I am thinking ideal sizes would be:

small 64x64 med 128x128 large 512x512

thank you for your time, really!

It Seems I was looking at the editor sizes and not the ones for random map, so heres a few corrections

original small map is actually 32x32, medium is 64x64 and large is 128x128. Those are the default sizes.

Now I changed them to :

Small = 64x64
Medium = 128x128
Big = 256x256

with some quick testing, those sizes seem to work well, I also tried 512x512 but unless you edit the endless game random scripts to lower the amount of trees it tends to be laggy.
Anything bigger is unplayable

will check back in case you want any more changes.

@user mutantroosta: Unfortunately no. Blitz3D uses Direct3D for its 3D engine which means: No Linux. I heard that it works with Wine though.

By the way: Blitz3D is now free. You can simply get it at www.blitzbasic.com so everyone can compile now without having to buy anything.
