my fav band is KoRn(stylized as KoЯn) is an American nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993.The band's current lineup includes founding members Jonathan Davis (vocals, bagpipes), James "Munky" Shaffer (guitar), Brian "Head" Welch (guitar, backing vocals), and Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu (bass), with the addition of Ray Luzier who replaced the band's original drummer, David Silveria. Korn was originally formed by three of the members of the band L.A.P.D.
Metal: Bring me the Horizon, Asking Alexandria, blessthefall, Issues, Killswitch Engage,
Rock: Hands like houses, PVRIS
I could list a lot more, but I think those bands are awesome.

Well, this post doesn't make any sense. "I prefer pop over bands" I don't like bands. [...] I prefer pop

They... were one of the most awesome Metal Band I've heard in my entire life.
So sad that they disbanded, David Draiman is now on device... I forgot about the others.
Lemme mainly categorize the following interprets to "rock" because even metal or other genres are related to it. (And im too lazy to add each genre)
Trivium, soad, metallica, three days grace, disturbed, breaking benjamin, rise against, trapt, soil (burn my words) and some more.
Btw. Disturbed is my absolute favorite.

Metal genre is related to rock, but you can't say "metal is rock", it's a different genre, like G-Funk with Hip-Hop.

Tons of metalcore bands and some deathcore (i.e. Attila; these guys are basically trolling the whole *core scene with their "Party Metal" antics :P).
There's keep arguing that metalcore and its sub-genres aren't metal. That's not true. It's a mix/fusion of some extreme metal genres (thrash metal, black metal, death metal and doom metal) with hardcore punk. It's a dynamic genre: there's certain "soft" bands who lean towards punk and mix clean vocals with screaming and others which are heavily influenced by metal. One thing is universal in this genre, though: the emphasis on breakdowns (which are the equivalents of "drops" from EDM in metal, I guess).
Here's a few examples of metalcore bands:

Mine is Linkin Park, but the old one, first two albums a re the best, now they sold out and make horrible electronic music.. I also listen to Drowning Pool, SOiL, Slipknot, Machine Head, and I could do this all day long

Motionless in White is one of my top favorite bands c: My favorite song by them is the song that opens their debue album; Creatures. The song is Immaculate Misconception. If you watch the music video, I recommend that you read the description, it's message from Chris Motionless in there.
(Btw; Screamed vocals are favored in this song, if you don't like that, steer clear; or just read the lyrics if you're curious.)

Eminem is my favourite metal band.
