@ DevGru: I disagree. Not long ago I've switched from giving Full-bans to specific only (Forum/Messages/File archive/Comments) and I tend to increase the ban durations slightly. A rule violation IS a rule violation. Even if I steal 5$, it's not much but it's still wrong and so counter measures have to be taken.
Just to be fair, I INDEED ban for shorter durations at the beginning (when I see that the user is new and doesn't know how things) and increase them as time goes on if the person doesn't learn from his mistakes.
The way I see it, it should be the other way around. Not the moderators banning less but users breaking rules less?
The duration indeed depends on circumstances and the broken rule, unless you know any moderators that t.ban long for slight mistakes.
People tend to learn after a few times of getting banned. I don't think giving harsh bans is wrong. For example I remember THEMUD getting banned a few times (by me too). They weren't harsh bans but still. After 6 or 7 bans, he improved a lot and now he's becoming more and more of a great user.
There's few people who just tend to break rules without a care for consequences. Bans at that point are rather not to discipline but to prevent from further rule breaking.

Overall, I believe that moderators right now are doing a fair job and t.bans are justified and are proper.

@ Rainoth: Atleast you didnt give him ''Idiot'' rank after 6-7 warning, like Zero did. I got max 10 warnings total in this forum and im idiot ranked. And also, i PMed, wrote here, created thread and still, he didnt answer me. I dont hate any mod here but i dont like how he gave me this rank without explaining me why i got this rank. Also in that week, i didnt get any warnings. After getting this rank, people started to spam my skype and laugh at me. Whaf if you give reason first?

Guy got 3 days just for saying "tl;dr". I doubt his ban is even necessary. One citation is enough for his post.

2. 3 Days is default t. ban duration and there's been many cases where people got this duration even though they deserved more/less

Yes, I do agree that 3 days is not exactly fair especially because it's a full ban. I'll make sure to correct it but I'm still standing by the point that moderators are doing a fair job.

I ban people who knew the rules before and still act like they don't know/care. That's exactly what a ban is for.

Moderators work is not just controlling the forum,helping or banning rules breakers.
Moderators should be nice to users, an important point they're ignoring it.

The mods are sweetass. There is little problems like our actions make them think of what we did wrong what our consequence will be.

For my part, I only behave like the person which talks to me.
If you're a nice and calm person, I'll help you with your problem regarding anything on the forum, no biggie.
Its also the other way around since everyone gets what they deserve.

And ye this russian mod gave me a small ban (idk like 6h or 12h or maybe 1day) but FOR NOTHING . My post had over 8 words . Fuck off
