If you actually bothered to read their posts and not argue blindly, you wouldn't even have to make that needless reply.
user XoOt quoted text from the site that notes a certain point - asking for a rank automatically disqualifies you from getting it. Don't bother writing anymore.

Alright, you just made things confusing for me...Yes the mods should get super users, but still..theres a roadblock. They dont want it. You see they retire and want to relax and not worry about anything.

Umm, since when this topic became a place discussing about demoted moderators and suggesting them for Super User? Shouldn't we discuss about actual moderators of US.de instead?

@user GeoB99: I think this is about moderators over all, including what would happen with the actual moderators and / or what should happen with the demoted or retired ones.

I think you all should cut it out because Super Users become such depending on what they create and upload in file archive, not how well they moderate/behave in the forum.

My opinion about
Moderators:
I've noticed that some mods have actually stepped down from their rank for personal reasons or whatever- in my opinion, this is a step in the right direction. There are too many moderators with different oppinions about different things, whitch leads to unsatisfied users and disagreeing moderators.
Another thing-I've noticed that some moderators like to use their powers for personal use. Removing files just because they feel like it, people being banned for 4 weeks just because of a little signature and all that bullshit.
They are here to keep the forum clean, not to prove that they have more power over us.
Also- I read the moderator election thread, whitch was more than needles.
Point is, If anything there should be less moderators. 1 or 2 would be just fine as long as they fit the profile of being active, loyal and all that stuff.

@user _-098-: But still DC keep some moderators, because they deserved this range. And I agree that some moderators bans for 4 weeks when they are angry . Furthermore it's voluntary work and why user DC would degrade them.

@user _-098-: Whenever that happened the community was quick to take care of things. The moderators I can remember off the top of my head are phenixtri, factis and most recently kimkat. Believe it or not all of them lost their moderator status as a result of community movements. Unrealsoftware is a self sufficient pseudo democratic system in that sense. If we don't like someone we can take them down.

@user _-098-: That is nonsense. Moderatorship is voluntary position. Asking for an all-out active moderator is like for someone to dedicate a big part of their life (just to be active and supervise regardless of what's happening or not happening on the site). It's a lot more efficient to have many moderators who may not be as active.
Not to point any fingers but only a single moderator did the actions that you've described. It's an undesired topic so lets leave it at that.
At ~2 years I've been moderating, there's only been a couple cases where I've disagreed with another moderator and we solved it fairly fast. Disagreeing amidst moderators was never a problem.
What exactly did you find unsatisfactory in your mentioned thread? I found people there behaving properly.
Finally, one point I'd like to note - different opinions aren't a problem as long as you can argue/discuss them in a civilized matter.

If you mean the "moderator election" thread-
It wasn't unsatisfactory as it was funny how there's like 4 pages of people being elected and shit and suddenly dc comes saying that he's not looking for new mods and just closes the thread.

@user _-098-: This is probably unrelated to the current topic, but the reason why I was asking for permission to promote people into minor moderator ranks (suggestion which got rejected), is because user DC lately doesn't seem likely he's going to accept more moderators even though we need them, and he doesn't like having to deal with this kind of stuff.

He said he wanted to make a report system for the forum but it doesn't look like he's going to implement that soon.

I have a slight guess so as to why he's not promoting anyone (or maybe people suggested) but it's not like there's a wave of crappy posts coming so I don't see a problem with being patient.
The system that user Starkkz proposed sounds very nice though.

There is already a report system and is the PM. Simple as that.
If someone finds a user's post that is violating a rule or a shit file is still kept on F.A. or such, the reporter can simply send a PM to a moderator and that mod who received the PM will take care of the situation. A report system and PM work nearly same therefore is not really necessary such a system like this.

Honestly, I never seen them abusing their own moderation powers currently as they are doing all fine. Of course, it might happen that a moderator made a mistake but if a mod is trying to behave like a superior being with his own powers and abuse them over others, user DC will take care of it.

@user GeoB99: I think it's a bad idea to make a comparison about the PM system with a report system, a report system is composed of many components that would make it different from sending a PM to a moderator. And in most cases, people prefers to continue a pointless discussion rather than reporting rule violations via PM.

For example, a report would be visible to all the moderators, and if one of them ignores it, the other will take a action. In a private message the moderator can just ignore the report and therefore the user will have to send the report to another moderator until one of them decides to do something. It depends on the person.

Also, a report system could be controlled.
• How many reports can you submit in a day?
• Does your rank allow you to send reports?
• Can you see rejected/accepted reports?

There are many other factors that will affect this system, and it also makes it visible to all the moderators and to the admin whoever is doing most contributions on good reports. A long time ago I sent this idea, it's here.

Why are you so much against democracy? Different opinions are just perfect as long as there is respect, and people understand that there are more opinions than theirs, it's better if there are different moderators, to complete each other. Plus, the moderators are banning acording to the rules, if they break them, report what happened.
