I noticed today one really sad thing, if I want to do fast trade I need to get somekind *BADWORD* mobile software called "Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator" if i don't do this I will need to wait *BADWORD* trade for 3days.
And problem is I dont have *BADWORD* smart phone to do this. And why the *BADWORD* I need smart phone, its *BADWORD* stupid! the only reason i could think they do this, because they want to SPY our *BADWORD* activity, like reading our text messages, to record and listen our calls, and event trace our location. Thats *BADWORD* great. Old phones wouldn't allow such things.(to do this in background silently)
Im very mad about this and probably going to do something about it, and i would like to see you thoughts about it too.
Think what will be next year? 10 Pounds per login? Sure!

P.s probably lot people don't even care on this forum because they dont really know what word privacy means.
It doesn't just touch those hackers, terrorist, silkroad and etc. Its touch everyone, its like *BADWORD* SOPA.

+PLUS
These days even Tor doesn't help because these *BADWORD* TorDNSEL blocks, and where is no such thing as good VPN, maybe they encrypt trafic, but hey! if they encrypt it probably they know how to decrypt it too.
So if someone asks for IP 111.111.111.111 information like transfered data, time, date and anything else they will give it. Don't read "privacy policy" its all lies.

Q: "You probably say why you so scared about it? if goverment want to check you, probably you doing something bad."
A: Well my dear friend, if i use any VPN with encrypted trafic it already makes me look suspicious, and if i dont.. Then any *BADWORD* retard in caffe/hotels where you use public network could sniff your *BADWORD* traffic and steal your password or even better if he see's your children porn collection you are doomed.

Is this something new? I have been trading without using a *BADWORD* phone. The only problem I have is their stupid email trade confirmation.
If you're talking about Steam Guard, they just send you an email with a code that you need to enter, how is that so complicated?

He's talking about the new mobile security app for Steam that apperantly "makes your account more secure" by generating a code on your phone that you have to enter everytime you log in to your Steam account on another computer or make a trade.

I think it's a neat feature tho I don't think it's really necessary. You can already make it so that they send a code to your email whenever you attempt to login on another computer, it's just double dipping at this point.

I don't know anything about the smartphone authentification - I do not use it. Steam Guard with e-mail is more than enough imho.

Another point on the topic: Steam has removed some privacy options half a year ago which controlled the visibility of your profile: "Friends of friends" and "Users only". There were quite some people using the latter that only allowed logged-in users to see your profile (sure, it isn't what one would call security, but still).
More interesting though is that there was an open discussion on Steam with 20+ pages(? I can't remember the exact number) with people talking and partly complaining. And then all of sudden it got DELETED.
Here is the proof that this thread existed.

I dont mind if someone sees my steam profile, i mad because that fag Gaben wants us to download his stupid software to our smart phones, so he could collect/spy all activity on our phones and transfer it to goverment. Thats lead to SOPA.
Email verifycation doesnt work for me, i dont know why but it still asks me to download that crap.

Please. Go to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.valvesoftware.android.steam.community - then, scroll down to "Permissions" and click on "View Details". It does not have access to your text messages, does not have access to your calls, does not have access to your location. So please, inform yourself before posting such rant threads.

If our lord and savoir Gaben ever wants to read my text messages or wants to know my location so I can play a game I honestly wouldn't care anyway.

But that's like; never going to happen.

Am I the only one which read the whole OP and saw this?

As i mentioned before Privacy Policy is lies, check any antivirus program then u click dont send data to help figth agains malware, they still will send that fucking shit. Most VPNP in privacy policy writed that they wont save any logs, but look goverment asked for logs for some people and they gave it to them.
Im not saying tht gaben is want to know our location, that we writing to our mothers and etc, im saying maybe he made somekind secret agreement with goverment so they could spy us..

@user Yates: Its metaphor, i mean if you do something illegal, lets say i download music for free without author permission, probably near in future i will be punished for that, and they will know what i did because they have hole fucking spy collection in my phone.

Android won't give them the resources if they are not specified in the privacy policy of the app. So you are wrong. Please, continue wearing a tin foil hat.

Edit: also, if you're too scared of steam, just stop using it. Nobody is forcing you to use steam

@user Evaldas: So why do you not just buy the music if you are so skeptical about downloading it? For example.

If you are so afraid about using certain websites, apps or anything then simply don't use them. No one is forcing you to.

It's not like Gaben is sat on your back going "*Hatcha! Hatcha!* Accept my terms, show me your email, text messages and child porn!"

This. I've made a few apps along the line using every big social media and even made a few android apps. You cannot get data if you are not approved for it, and you can still not get that data even if the user does not approve it.

Also Android looks into ANY app which uses certain permissions which could be abused. I had to wait a while before my app got approved for the store using certain permissions and even before that I had to submit two app-flow charts which shows what I use that shit for.

@user ohaz Yes im paranoid person, no need to use this "TIN FOIL HAT" thingy in every sentence.
Also I dont have smart phone so i dont know what functions do they have and is it posible to bypass confirmation dialog.
@user J192: Every person in the planet should be, time by time laws will reduce our activity in the internet, someday they will make us pay for every fucking bad word we say on the internet, or try to download movie, picture or as i sayed before music. For those who doesnt leave with parents it doesnt look very cheap to buy new music album every day/week. I know it sounds pathetic but MARK MY WORDS after 2years.

Uh. No, it's not. Also, why would you want to bypass the confirmation dialog, this only allows you to download the app

"Hey, yes sir I want to use your app but just for the sake of it I'm going to bypass that confirmation dialog."

What does any of those have to do with being spied on? If I say "fuck" right now, every single person that has access to the internet could see it.

The best part about our fucked up society is this: People can take away our rights, our ability to do things, but if they even lay hands on the Internet by God we're all out on the streets starting riots

No one touches the Internet.

Stop using Steam. Stop using social networks. Host a mail server on your own. Start using IRC, once again. Buy yourself any Nokia powered by Symbian S60. Be a boss in your life. Laugh when they start crying about privacy. Spit on people when their private data is stolen again. Wink at them when their data is sold to yet another advertising company. Keep everything in your hands. Become a man of the future, like me. We will know everything about everyone, everyone will know nothing about us.

@user oxytamine: chat with friends via IRC? Sorry sir, Your sarcasm level too hight for me.
For safe mailing is good Thunderbird with GPG and TorBirdy plugins.
But I think encoded messaging is too much, maybe only then you buy, or planing to do something not very legal, lets say you want to buy CDs full of horse porn. (That's probably illegal, I will not gonna do any research about it. )
If you don't use proxy you will get caught same second as you click send message, and if you use proxy, probably you will still will get caught, because encrypted traffic probably should look suspicious, so they will contact your proxy provider and will ask for logs, and I'm sure they don't want to have problems with government. So that's where encoding helps.

@user J192: I'm talking about SOPA.

@user Yates These days people doesn't use NET that much, if someone will go make riot in the streets because of our stolen privacy that would be Silkroad dev, people doing blackhat activity and other hackers and ofc users of silkroad.

Back to steam
I'm still gonna use steam, just not gonna buy that stupid smartphone, because its waste of money. Probably i will need to wait after every trade for 3days. Sad thing.
