I posted the news on the CS2D fb page and on PCS twitter.

Guys a question, what makes a game Greenlit after entering Steam Greenlight?

Thanks god, it's really happening.

One more thing, how will we handle the moding which is why a lot of old people still play this game for? Will there be lots of changes or should I relax about that?

I assume user Masea it talking about changes for a Steam Workshop integration or for a Steam integration in general.

Currently no changes for this are planned and also maximum compatibility always was very important to me so you don't have to worry.

@user SQ: What was I trying to say is, as far as I know when you download something at Steam, it saves all the files to Steam's folder. Which could mean gfx, sfx and as well as sys folders should be in there. When I try to change anything from there, could it cause some wrong things?

In short, will the moding(coding stuff, changing/creating graphics, adding sounds) be changed when it released on Steam?

EDIT:
Oh thanks, user DC.

with legal risks in mind, id rather you greenlighted stranded 2, but either way you should do both.

regardless il be voting for both, so all the best man!

il try promote the game with my limited influence, iv got a few friends with 5k subs, might start with them

edit:

btw to make ends meet, and meet copyright law;
maybe you could rebrand CS2D by simply changing the abbreviated words, its not like it'd be a giant deal, just need to remove any reference to "Counter Strike"

The name of Valve's IP is "Counter-Strike" and except for the audio files that were used in both CS2D and CS 1.6 which are, if i recall correctly, stock audio files, there shouldnt be any other legal issues.
It's really all on Valve right now. I do not think they could or would shut CS2D down but they could reject it on Steam since it's literally a Counter-Strike clone.
Hopefully they see the potential in this and let it slide, instead of going all Nintendo on us.

old Seems legit.

Wtf. I go to the toilet, return, refresh the page and CS2D is on greenlight.

Congratz DC.
