GeoB99: I can fix that. Just need people to test it out of course, to make sure if it works.

@
SQ: I'm in. Just tell me when you're ready and I'll be right ahead to test it.

add "Invite Friends" when we press escape would be cool :0

Regarding this "Attention: Do NOT extract/install to "C:\Program Files" on Win! It will lead to problems!"
As far as I know steam games are installed in this directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common". It won't lead to problems, right?

You can change that, if you want

Hajt: Problem with this location is the rights management of Windows which doesn't allow you to write to these folders without the right permissions. Steam itself installs games to these locations and I think games have the required permissions when they are started through Steam.
I would have to double check though. In worst case all the "dynamic" game data would have to be moved to a location like the user folder where you always have write-access. That's how it is normally done in Windows anyway but I dislike this approach because I prefer it when everything is in one place.

DC: You had to pick a separate location for the installer version, didn't you? I would like the installer and the steam verisons to store the files in the same location. Players who need multiple installations or profiles will want to download the portable version.
I think, separate locations are better when creating backups of the user profile. However, I'll admit to stick with the portable versions for the reason of one location. I guess, that comes with the knowledge of each files use which most Steam gamers won't have and won't care about.
Btw. I never backed up my game saves in Steam... I expect Steam to take care of that.

Shrepard: The U.S.G.N. login system will be kept of course, you can choose if whether play through Steam or use your
account. However you won't earn any achievements without using your Steam account as they're built by Steam API.
