Ah, well, I am used to beta testing games where they always WANT to have different bugs separated as different posts...
This one will be the exception if you do not want that here.

Great game, but a couple bugs got me killed...

1) When I started playing, I died a few times from exhaustion because the "Z" button wasn't letting me sleep. When I tried to select a new sleep button in the options menu, I discovered that the game's default for sleep is actually "Y". If you select YOUR "Y" key as the sleep button, however, it displays a "Z".

2) Another way I die is by travelling along and I end up facing a direction I didn't choose. This is really frustrating when I come across a predator or am swimming, because I'll end up running toward it by accident or drowning if underwater. Sometimes the direction changes are very frequent. Other times, I could play for an hour before having this problem again.

Please fix #2 .... I want to enjoy this game to the fullest. It would be awesome if I lived or died on my own merit, not because my directions end up randomized.

#1 is because the game uses the IDs of a German keyboard layout, where there's a Z at the place where your Y is.

#2 is really strange... perhaps you just have a crappy mouse? Sorry if this sounds harsh... I've already seen and used unbelievably bad mouses that let the cursor jump around at their own will and sometimes make real orgies of such jumps. That would match your description.

Do you also play other 1st person games, and do you encounter this problem there?

Thanks for responding so quickly with your suggestions.

I'm using my laptop. It has a built-in mouse pad, and I've never had a problem with other games or any other usage. I bought it new in September and know that it has no problems.

Has anyone else had problems with the game on their laptops? Perhaps there's a setting or config I could change so I can play it better...

Probably you're accidently hitting the touchpad with another part of you're hand which leads to the change in direction. so thats no bug in Stranded II at all and I cannot fix it.
I highly suggest to connect a mouse to your laptop when you're playing games like this one. it will make controling much easier and better and I could bet that you will not have the problems anymore.

1 more bug.
When I start the first island, there are several crates and barrels. But one of the crates contains juice and cookies, but I can only see juice after I break it.

In editor, it's fine.

yes. sometimes some items sink into the terrain a bit. a fatal problem if the items are very small because in this case it can happen that they are totally covered by the terrain and hence invisible to the player...

the Problem is the polygon order, the Terain basically works with squares, two triangles.

in teraincolision, the diagonal is from top left, to bottom right, in the visible terain it's the other way round, top right, bottom left.

Do you understand what I mean?

This is one big bug!

Item you need = fishing rod

1. take your fishing rod.
2. fish 1 time.
3. drop your fishing rod.
4. you can still fish without it!

Oh..another one.

1.take your hammer.
2. Then hammer will show in the bottom of the screen ,right?
3.Open your rucksack and drop hammer.
4. You can still build buildings!!!

Serious one!

After dig 3 treasures, you have to give it to the pirate.

Then, you will talk with him. Talk about the grapevine.
Quit talking. Then you don't have the gold. However, pirate still want the gold!

-Sorry if it's already posted.

An interesting bug:

On the second-to-last island, if you try to take the hippie's tent, the game responds that you can't, but lets you take it anyway.

Also, on many islands with unkillable NPCs (I first noticed this in the survival guide), you can hit the NPC with a torch, and they will light on fire, and you can even hear the sounds of an attack on flesh if you stand nearby, but the NPC takes no damage and doesn't even react. It would be better to either have a timer that automatically removes the fire state, or to make the NPC unable to have the fire state at all.
