*** Le Secrets & References ***

For those who are WAY too impatient to find such easy secrets, here are a spoilerific "readme" for all of you. I'll start with the hardests first then finish with the easiest ones.

=======================================================================

***Secret 1***
You see that bloody gib near the bottom door that leads to two CT spawns ? Shoot the wall next to it to reveal a secret. Be careful where you step, or you'll explode in a thousand pieces! This room has the following items:
- 1x FN FAL 2000
- 1x RPG Launcher
- 2x Cocktail Molotov
- 1x Super Armor

This is a reference to the "shootable" switches in DOOM 1 and DOOM 2, which are commonly used in most megawads.

Respawnable items: Cocktail Molotov and FN FAL 2000. The rest can be only picked once.

***Secret 2***
In the middle of the "ROMERO" maze, you'll see a pool of blood leading to an apparently locked room. To the right of this pool, keep pressing "E" until two walls open, making you gain access to the goodies inside, and a burned copy of the PC version of "Duke Nukem Forever", a game which got a lot of controversy and harsh criticism in the past, even considered to be "one of the worst games ever made", joining the likes of failed FPSes like "John Romero's Daikatana" and "Navy S.E.A.L.S. - Weapons of Mass Destruction".

Inside you'll find the following items, all making reference to Duke Nukem games:
1x M249 = Machine Gun
1x Heavy Armor = Armor inventory item
1x Desert Eagle = Starting Pistol
1x Night Vision = Night Vision inventory item
2x Medkits = Medkit inventory item
1x Satchel Charge = Pipebombs
1x RPG Launcher = RPG Launcher
1x Laser Mine = Laser Trip Bomb

This is a reference to one of the secrets of Duke Nukem 3D's map "E1L03 - Death Row", where Duke finds a dead space marine with one of his hands in his throat inside a secret. He then says: "That's one DOOMed space marine!"
In my secret, I comment: "That's one duke DOOMed forever! ;)". I hope Duke Nukem fans don't take it personally.

Respawnable items: All of them, however, the most powerful items take longer to respawn to avoid abuse.

***Secret 3***
Near the T spawn, there's a metallic "Denuvo" door that apparently can't be opened. Just press "E" between the letters "V" and "O" and voil! You just cracked Denuvo, you dirty, dirty pirate scum piece of crap! I should kill you for this! >:(

Inside you'll find the following goodies:
1x Deagle
1x M134
1x Molotov Cocktail
1x Portal Gun
1x Super Armor

This is a joke on this supposed "war on piracy", another war that don't even belong to us. Also, a reference to the new "DOOM 4" which has this D.R.M. blunded in.
Just in case people take offense of a damn sprite and can't take a damn joke, I made question of making everything clear in my "afterdeath_denuvojoke" text file.
Seriously, why do we have to make "war" of everything those days ? Are people that much desperate for some blood bath ? That's just sick.

Respawnable items: All of them, however, the most powerful items take longer to respawn to avoid abuse.

***Secret 4***
Near the CT spawn, there's a sign saying "Not a Secret". Just use any weapon to destroy the fragile wall to find a super duper secret!

Inside this secret you'll find:
1x Deagle
1x M134
1x Gas Grenade
1x Portal Gun
1x Super Armor
1x Commander Keen Helmet that can't be collected or looted in any way

This is a reference to an old series of game called "Commander Keen" starring the title kid character "Keen", which was created at the time by some of the developers from the still unknown "id Software" company. Also a reference to DOOM 2's "super" secret "Map 32: Grosse", where you must kill all the hanging Keens to exit the level. But first you need to pass by some angry Nazi soldiers and a Cyberdemon. Good luck with that. ;)
Rumors say (at least in DOOM's main wiki) that this map with the hanging Keens was created due to one of the DOOM 2 dev trying to "put the past behind him".

Respawnable items: All of them, however, the most powerful items take longer to respawn to avoid abuse.

=======================================================================

***Secret 5***
Not much a secret since this one is quite obvious: after a part of the "Cacoform's" eye explode, you can venture yourself inside the nukage pool full of acid. Be careful to not stay too much long in here without a decent armor or either the acid will melt you or some enemy will take the opportunity to do some double damage on you!

Inside the nukage you'll find:
1x Flamethrower
2x Medic Armor
1x Grenade Launcher

This is a reference to the dangerous acid/nukage pools of DOOM 1 and DOOM 2.

Respawnable items: All of them, however, the most powerful items take longer to respawn to avoid abuse.

=======================================================================

***Secret 6***

There's no sixth secret. It's all in your head! ;)
The switch near the CT spawn is definitely NOT a secret!

Inside you'll find the following goodies:
1x Laser Rifle
1x FN FAL 2000
1x Stealth Suit

Respawnable items: None of them.

***More References***
- As mentioned in my faq, the whole map tileset work and background were based on "Map 24 - Post Mortem" of a "DOOM 2's" megawad called "Hell Revealed" (HR.WAD). The name of my map is a play with the translated words of this Latim expression:
Post = "After" + Mortem = "Death" >>> "After Death".

- As mentioned in my faq, all the weapons here are "Counter-Strike 2D-fied" versions of guns and some items from the "DOOM" series. Check out my "afterdeath_faq" for more details.

- The inverted pentagrams, crosses, corpses, blood pools, darkness and skeleton you see in this map were created after most satanic imagery and creepy atmosphere present in "DOOM 1" maps, in the "Hell" maps of "DOOM 2" and certain megawads for "DOOM 2" like "Memento Mori" (MM.WAD) and "Requiem" (REQUIEM.WAD). I did my best to recreate and emulate the sensations you'll feel when playing a "DOOM" map. I hope it was worth it! :)

- The "Cacoform"(Cacodemon platform) was drew after one of the most iconic (and terrifying) "DOOM" monster "Cacodemon", which was originally based on a large "Dungeons & Dragons" monster. There's even a plush design based on him called "Hissy".
The reference I used was based on Caco's drawing on the Tumblr DOOM blog called "Doom Monsters", where you can send questions to be answered by some of the demons themselves! - http://doommonsters.tumblr.com/
Just not send any messages to Caco: he's a fucking dickhead. ;)

- The maze above the "Cacoform" was formed using the word "ROMERO". John Romero is one of the main developers of the "DOOM" series and pioneered the word "death match" which would soon become an "obligatory" match mode in most FPSes. He also created and designed some maps to "DOOM 1" and "DOOM 2".

- The "Not a Secret" sign makes reference to a "3D Realms" and "Apogee Software" game with a lot of "ludicrous gibs" called "Rise of The Triad", which got a remake in 2013. This makes a reference to the very first secret of this remake, where if you turn behind you in the starting point in the first map, you'll se an entrance covered in planks with the words "NOT A SECRET" written in red on them.

Also, did you know that the original "Rise of the Triad" DOS game was created by a former id Software developer who left after some grudge, misunderstandings and "friendly fire" between him and his former work buddies ? His name is Jules, I believe, and it can be clearly seen in one of "Beta DOOM" images in the "DOOM Wiki" how much well he got along with his friends: two of the textures that appear in this image say "Tom is King" and "Jules sucks". Ouch!
