There occures a bug with SII when you switch with alt+tab to desktop and back. This bug is the result of the compilation of SII with the newest version of BlitzBasic3D, which indeed fixes problems with Win7, but some user have XP or Vista and can do it without those fix, but don't want to have that previously explained bug.

So I compiled the source code of SII with an older version of BB3D (with V1.95).

Honestly this bugfix cannot receive enough love in my opinion. The problems I have with stranded 2 in windows XP of late has made the game unplayable with psychedelic graphics, this executable fixes those problems.

This is in no way stating that DC doesn't know how to make a wonderful game! Quite the opposite! The game is awesome enough to make me search for a way to fix it! It's just that Blitz doesn't seem to have the compatibility with windows XP that it used to.

This bugfix has recently aided me and several of my real life friends with their gaming in Stranded 2, hence the new comment, and continued gratitude. Thank you Mc Leaf!

Would you be able to point me in the direction of V1.95 of BB3D? I went hunting but on the BlitzBasic website, they only have version 1.62 available. Am I missing something here?

You could atleast change the compiled .exe icon with reshacker.
