CS2D. It's 2D and it's meant to be 2D. It's even in the name. I won't make it 3D.
Yes, I know. There's that pseudo 3D mode in CS2D but that's just a small experiment by user SQ. CS2D is still a 2D game.

If you want CS2D to look like PolyStrike then you're not asking for a redesign. You are asking for a different game. A new game.

Additionally there already is PolyStrike apparently. Just play it instead of CS2D if you prefer its look

There is an unfinished camera perspective mode only with tiles, this is a incorrect and incomplete 2.5d effect.
Crying and nagging of players are connected with the unfinished function which does not affect the gameplay in any way if performed completely and correctly. You started well, just forgot to add changes not only for tiles but for everything else, including character skins and, accordingly, limit the field of view for players.

I have not played CS2D for a very long time, including because of its awful design (you yourself claimed that it was made in this form only to fulfill its original purpose)
You had an good idea (counter strike in 2d with top down view) ... but you stopped in its development.
The video above shows that even large companies realize the niche of this idea is not occupied by you.

As far as I know you are a German ... it is very strange that you do not have a truly German order to strive for ideal, for further improvement.
Yes, there was a problem with the gameengine, but before and now it didn’t scare you - for some reason you are making a more complicated Stranded on the unity engine, but you refused to do this with CS2D.
There is not much functionality and features of the original (2d does not interfere with their implementation) - there is no physics, there is no correct camera perspective, there are no multi-storey maps, there is no hitbox correctness associated with the skin, there is no balance of weapons, there are no headshots and damage to the aiming point, no crouching, climbing.

In the modern world, it is very important how the final product looks, and despite the fact that the game is projected in low resolution, there are a lot of pixel textures, nevertheless this is not the reason for various graphic improvements - there are no GPU Particles, TressFX, Voxel Cone Tracing (indirect illumination), tesselation , Realtime Ambient Occlusion (contact shadows), no Parallax occlusion mapping and so on.
Yes, it may not seem necessary, but in fact it will give a new perception of the game world, it will become more alive.

I repeat if you understand that to see the game beautiful and of high quality (not a terrible pixel pile) on your screen does not mean that it will become another 3D game.
Mechanics, scripts, algorithms remain 2D - visualization does not affect the gameplay.

WTF dude. Even if your prejudice was correct, germans also know when to stop working on something because it has been worked on for long enough.
Also, can't you understand that DC doesn't WANT TO work on it anymore? He has no single obligation to work on it. None. Just give him a break and stop complaining all the time. If you want a 3D CS2D, implement it yourself. DC developed what he wanted to wanted to have. Now you implement what you want to have.

My sides.

"You know, as a Russian, it is very strange that you do not have a truly Russian order to be a drunk communist bear"
How'd that sound? Not good huh?

Actually, to me it's a bad perspective for a 3d shooter. I prefer first person view. In a 3d shooter with this perspective, that would be bad and lack of the features of 3d.

@user Pagyra:
How much did you pay for cs2d? I mean you have some serious demanding expactions for the further developement of a ~13 years old game, which was created mostly by one person. And if he has to develope another game of this series, he must get paid somehow for the hours, days, months of work, right?

Hello my friend, as you have seen in the forums, DC already said he won't update the game to a new engine or a new camera view, because that demands effort and time, 2 things that are valuable in modern days, nobody is going to work on the development of a game as bad as it is,also he is working is other projects like Stranded 3 that is expected to be released in 2041.
