Alot of people dislike the Tactical Shield and AWP and
HE's (overpowered). So is there any way you can restrict some weapons?

watch if the tilesets you used for these maps are implemented into cs2dmax. Also look if all of the other things (like additional gfx) you used are in the cs2dmax folder.

I hope it's nongraphical as well but I'm still curious to see what language is been used to develop the server.
Also, a bit of testing also shows that the networking structure no longer use packetid's that are even remotely similar to those in the original. For example, the join server code now starts with either a 1 or a 2 and is succesive in this pattern. It'll be interesting to see how much the max's networking model and the 0.1.0.4 model differs.
Also, as AJ said before, the movement is a lot slower and most of us here want to keep the movement speed about the same as is, or at least make the movement speed constant (diagnal vs horizontal/vertical straffing)
@Marcio: The purpose of beta softwares is to get feedback from the user regarding experiences that can not be physically debugged. So why would an alpha even be released if we can't share our opinions about it?
Guest: Yeah it's possible to restrict weapons. do this:
goto options
more
click at mp_unbuyable (you have to scroll down)
enter the names of weapons you want to make unbuyable (seperate with ,) or an all to make all unbuyable.
click apply
start your server.
OR
directly enter mp_unbuyable followed by the weapon names in your console (but then your changes will be just temporary and not the will not be saved)

I already said that it IS nongraphical
It's written in blitzmax too and uses the original client code but all gfx/sfx is removed and it runs as console app.

good thing u made an option for the tactical shield to be unbuyable.. its so annoying.. 3 terrorists are surrounding one guy and just wasting their bullets on him and he doesnt even die.. but then again he cant use a weapon so hes pretty much stuffed if hes alone..

making all weapon damages adjustable would be possible. I think I'll add a command for this like:
mp_wpndmg WEAPONNAME, DAMAGE
however TheKilledDeath is right with the point that this function could be abused by server owners and that other people might think that it is a cheat.

And here a few annoying things for me,which I hadn't read on this thread:
The palm sprites are to big, it's to easy to hiding there, or maybe add a bit more transparency.
You shouldnt be able to walk through other players, just walk a bit in a enemy to be sure that a knife kill will work.
The burst mode should be changed, at the moment you can do rapidshooting and change the mode durring shooting.
The shield is way to powerfull, maybe you should be able to hit/wound the enemy with half/quarter damage, when your pointer is directly above the enemy. If I am right, you are able to shoot trough the observation slit in 1.6 and source.
Bug: sometimes the player positions aren't correct.
As a conclusion I have to say, that I really like the update, some balancing should be done, but the game is better then the old version. good work DC.
