After i left CS2D, i decided i wanted to help out with the game. So i made a tournament porgram. I am going to make at least 10 tournaments a year. Probably more. Go to the website www.enhancedtournaments.webs.com and register. then go to the forums and fill out a registration form, then I will contact everyone about the upcoming tournaments! There will be 1v1 tournaments AND clan tournaments. Also if anyone would like to donate servers for tournaments PM me on the website. my user is Real Deal

Im sorry to say this but...
These FreeWebs-sites doesn`t really make people go crazy and they suck badly..
It`s ok to host in there but you should have just... code it yourself atleast..

You don\'t have to code the pages all by yourself, there\'s a magical little thing called google that can help you find things that you\'re looking for.

IE:

tournament league script
league laddas script
gaming league website
webs.com sucks

These queries will all give you something useful to use

once again guys, back ur \"webs.com sucks\" up with some evidence. so far i really havent seen a problem with my sites compared to a lot of backyard html sites

You\'re serious right?

I\'m a web-designer. I sometimes spend hours after hours designing not only the exterior graphical interface, but also the application models of web services. I enjoy the feel of satisfaction after successfully creating a \'new\' and \'unique\' piece of the web by myself. And then I go online and see all of these horribly designed websites springing up everywhere hosted by vanity seeking web services and attracting what could be considered the killers of the internet. Every where I go I get bugged by incompetently coded scripts and horrible UI experiences. Once in a while I run across custom maintained website and it feels like a breeze of fresh air to me, but soon, I\'m immersed once again in a frozen, empty wasteland of unoriginality.

By the way - web.com\'s client level scripting are all legacies of what the 90\'s should have never been, their profuse usage of the divs is just awful because they do nothing more then trying to emulate features that they\'ve forgone when they decided to \'modernize\' their old table styles. There\'s no semantics to the code, and the automated script generators are barely pluggable. It\'s definitely one of the worst web hosting service ever. And please, don\'t even get me started on how unusable it is, especially to host scripts that are essential to running a league. Web.com doesn\'t offer a php engine, it doesn\'t offer a mysql backend, it doesn\'t even offer a static serving mechanism. It boggles me that anyone would use it to run anything even remotely important.

But no matter what, it\'s fair to say that the services offered by web.com by far undershoots even the most basic needs of running a tournament.

PS: Dreamweaver is on the lower end of the development tool-list for designers. It\'s extremely unflexible in the wysiwyg mode and doesn\'t offer much in the coding mode (everything has to be done from the plugins).

I never said \"Don`t host on freewebs, but im saying that it sucks to use these templates...without doing anything on yourself.

In freewebs, you can just put your own html-code to make the whole site out of it.

Hosting is good, page is not.

I'm going to say this once again, Please do not make this a personal argument, here are the facts:

Running a league requires automated inputs - Web.com does not have the capability for that
Running a league requires minimalistic browser restriction - Web.com has horrible cross platform compatibility issues
Running a league requires access to a backend database - Web.com offers no such thing
Running a league requires at least some backend language to support the league's automation system - Web.com does not offer that.

How do I know such things? I've ran backend analysis for server applications to pick out the best backend server/platform/database combination. I've done my fair share of research on web.com and it's extremely inflexible as a platform for hosting webservice.

So for the last time - Web.com is not suitable for this purpose and please, can we stop going on to why you think web.com is or is not good for your own projects?
